Fox News viewers think Trey Gowdy is a big time supporter of Donald Trump.

But there was something Trey Gowdy didn’t want Trump supporters to know.

And now Trey Gowdy got caught in this terrible betrayal of Donald Trump.

No one in conservative media opposed Matt Gaetz’s nomination as Attorney General more than Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy turned his every appearance on Fox News into a one-man whip operation to build opposition to Gaetz ever becoming the Attorney General.

Some of this is owed to Gowdy’s outrage over Gaetz leading the push to dump Kevin McCarthy as the Speaker of the House.

McCarthy went back on his word and surrendered to Joe Biden on the debt ceiling deal.

That was enough for Gaetz and his fellow conservatives to make the move against McCarthy.

McCarthy’s allies in the establishment never forgot.

When Gaetz finally withdrew his name from consideration, Gowdy took a victory lap on Fox News.

Gowdy was so drunk on his win that he actually accused Donald Trump of attempting to weaponize the justice system against Democrats by picking Gaetz as his nominee for Attorney General.

“The message for Republicans is don’t do it on the other side, either, with this absurd AG Pick that you just made. Justice is different,” Gowdy exclaimed.

“It is a combination of policy, law and also morality. You do not use our justice system as a political weapon. Voters rejected it in November and will reject it if Republicans try to do it. Some things rise above the din. The justice system is one of those things,” Gowdy continued.

Gowdy’s slip up was a window into his true thoughts about Trump as well as the trials and tribulations that the deep state put him through.

Matt Gaetz wanted to make sure Trump and his supporters knew that truth about Trey Gowdy.

“Trey Gowdy is and has always been a Deep State bootlicker,” Gaetz posted on social media.

Gaetz tweet accompanied a video from Gowdy’s time in Congress where Gowdy praised the FBI for opening the Russia collusion investigation.

Even though Gowdy knew the investigation was based on a hoax, Gowdy claimed the FBI opening up this witch hunt was the exact right thing to do.

“I am more convinced that the FBI did what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump,” Gowdy declared.

Gowdy also said he supported the Mueller probe “100 percent” and claimed it would be wrong for Republicans to defund Mueller for his attempted coup against Donald Trump.

“I told my Republican colleagues, ‘Leave him the hell alone,’ and that’s still my advice,” Gowdy told Fox News back in 2018.

Matt Gaetz pledged to uproot the deep state out of the Justice Department.
