McDonald’s is the biggest fast-food chain in the country.

The company wanted to make one bad situation right with its loyal customers.

And McDonald’s kicked off the New Year with one announcement that fans begged for.

McDonald’s adds more value options for customers

The fast food industry has seen prices surge after the runaway inflation that President Joe Biden created.

Fast-food restaurants lost the value they once had.

Skyrocketing prices have caused more of their customers to eat at home.

And casual sit-down restaurants like Chili’s and Applebee’s offered new value meals that are comparable with fast food in price.

McDonald’s was no exception to the struggles the industry saw, as customers cut back their spending on fast food.

Its prices have increased by 40% since 2019.

The chain launched its $5 Meal Deal as a temporary promotion last summer to lure back inflation-weary consumers.

Customers can choose from a McDouble or a McChicken, small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small drink for only $5.

The promotion was only supposed to run until the end of summer, but it was extended after it became a massive success.

McDonald’s CFO Ian Borden said in October the $5 Meal Deal was “drawing customers back” to the chain and it did well “particularly with low-income consumers, successfully growing traffic share with this group for the first time in over a year.”

The chain is adding more value options for the new year.

McDonald’s announced another extension of the $5 Meal Deal until the end of summer as part of the chain’s McValue menu.

The McValue menu will feature a new “Buy One, Add One for $1” deal so customers can get more bang for their buck.

A second hashbrown, Sausage McMuffin, sausage biscuit, or sausage burrito can be added for just a dollar.

Customers can add a second 6-piece Chicken McNuggets, McDouble, McChicken, or small fries for just a buck during lunch and dinner.

McDonald’s tries to get its crown back as the value leader

Actor and WWE star John Cena will be the spokesman for the new McValue menu.

“I always talk about ‘earning my sunset’ and there’s nothing like heading to McDonald’s after completely crushing your day,” Cena said.

“It’s tough to choose between some of my favorites sometimes, but now I don’t have to,” Cena continued. “The fact that fans can mix and match with the new McValue menu to get great deals on the food they love is going to be an absolute game-changer.”

McDonald’s is also rolling out new promotions in its app like free medium fries with a $1 purchase on Fridays and a free McCrispy Chicken Sandwich for new users.

Food industry consultant David Henkes told CNN the McValue launch helps “enhance the broader image of McDonald’s as a value-oriented brand.”

“Restaurant traffic remains challenged, and this really represents a line of thinking that value will continue to be important to the consumer for the foreseeable future,” Henkes stated. “Inflation remains elevated, and creating a more structured, long-term value platform tells me that McDonald’s really sees opportunity in doubling down in its focus on budget-oriented consumers.”

McDonald’s is banking on its new McValue menu to win customers frustrated over high prices.
