Democrats knew the conspiracy to conceal Joe Biden’s mental condition couldn’t hold up after the debate with Donald Trump.
The whole world could see that Biden’s brain was fried and he was completely senile.
Panicked party leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and Chuck Schumer schemed to force Biden to end his re-election campaign, an effort that proved successful when Biden dropped out of the race on July 21, 2024.
But a defiant Biden spent three weeks trying to fend off the growing number of Democrats who understood that there was no way the American people were going to re-elect an 82-year-old man who didn’t appear to know what day it was to another four years in office.
At one point, Schumer told Biden’s handlers they needed to meet with Senate Democrats so they could get a full picture of how Biden’s support had crumbled.
During this meeting, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) was the only one to voice support for Joe Biden and called his colleagues cowards for not standing by their President.
“We’ve got to be for Joe Biden,” the New York Times reported Fetterman declaring. “You have no spine.”
Chuck Schumer confronted Fetterman after the meeting and told him in no uncertain terms not to speak that way of his fellow Senators again.
It was the word “spine” that stuck in Schumer’s craw.
“You can always express what you think in our caucus, but don’t ever tell our members they have no spine,” the Times reported Schumer telling Fetterman. “It’s not effective for you and not fair to them.”
Fetterman was willing to continue the deception about Joe Biden’s cognitive functions.
Other Democrats in the room reached their limit on this charade.
Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) told Biden’s handlers that the only way the campaign could continue would be if Biden took a neurological exam and then answered unscripted questions from the press.
“The usually quiet Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island, a West Point graduate and former paratrooper, said he could no longer support his commander in chief unless Mr. Biden could produce two neurologists to issue a public report saying he was fit to serve, and then hold a news conference where anyone could ask questions,” the Times report continued.
The Times also reported that Senator Sheldon White House (D-RI) told Biden’s handlers that the party would be “lying” to the public if Democrats kept insisting Biden was fine.
John Fetterman is now trying to reinvent himself as some kind of political maverick who is on board with the MAGA agenda.
But when the chips were down, John Fetterman made it clear he had no problem trying to pull a fast one on the American people by gaslighting them about Joe Biden’s mental state.
