Al Sharpton was stunned when churches demanded MSNBC cancel him for this sick reason
Reverend Al Sharpton is one of the most corrupt figures on the Left.
He finally crossed a bright red line that his allies couldn’t ignore.
And Al Sharpton was stunned when churches demanded MSNBC cancel him for this sick reason.
Al Sharpton’s charities received a $500,000 donation before an interview with Kamala Harris
Reverend Al Sharpton has dealt with one controversy after another dating back to the 1980s as one of the biggest race hustlers on the Left.
He hosts a weekend show on MSNBC called PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton, where he scored a coup with an October 20 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Sharpton spoke at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and has been an outspoken supporter of Kamala.
The softball interview would have flown underneath the radar, but the Washington Free Beacon discovered in federal campaign filings that Kamala’s campaign had made a pair of $250,000 donations to Sharpton’s National Action Network nonprofit in September and October.
Kamala greased Sharpton’s palms before she sat down for an interview with him.
Neither the Reverend nor MSNBC disclosed these payments to viewers or addressed them.
MSNBC suspended Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough in 2010 for not disclosing political donations to the network.
Black churches call on MSNBC to cancel Sharpton over Kamala payment
Sharpton is usually the one leading protests through his web of nonprofits and ministries.
Now, the shoe is on the other foot.
The National Black Church Initiative demanded that MSNBC suspend Sharpton and investigate the money his nonprofit received from the Kamala campaign.
150,000 black churches and more than 27 million are represented by the organization.
“We will support Rev. Sharpton’s suspension until the investigation is complete,” the National Black Church Initiative said in a statement. “In all the talk about the threat to our democracy, someone forgot to articulate that free, open, objective, and transparent press is an essential component of the building blocks to preserve our democracy’s integrity.”
The organization called Sharpton’s actions a “moral stain” on black churches.
Reverend Anthony Evans, the president of the National Black Church Initiative, admitted Sharpton is “loved and admired by many in our coalition.”
“But that does [not] take away from the fact he is facing significant moral and journalism ethics [concerns] regarding this payment or donation to the National Action Network,” Evans explained. “In addition, Rev. Sharpton is a minister of the Gospel. This payment does not look good for a man supposed to represent integrity.”
The Society of Professional Journalists called the payments a “black eye” for Sharpton and MSNBC, even if the reverend doesn’t consider himself a journalist.
“This kind of entanglement harms the credibility of the journalist, the news organization, and journalism overall, and credibility is difficult to restore,” The Society of Professional Journalists stated. “While Sharpton may not consider himself a journalist, many viewers do. “When TV news broadcasters do not report their conflicts of interest, or conduct their work in ways that run counter to ethical journalism it builds distrust among their audiences and places a black eye on both their network and the profession.”
Al Sharpton accepting payments from Kamala’s campaign is a pay-for-play scandal.
MSNBC’s almost nonexistent credibility took another major hit.
