A so-called Republican just pulled off this sick betrayal of Donald Trump
Donald Trump and his supporters were left speechless.
Trump found out just before he was set to take office that he was the victim of one of the worst double crosses anyone had ever seen.
And that’s because a so-called Republican just pulled off this sick betrayal of Donald Trump.
Amy Coney Barrett – like many GOP Supreme Court Justices before her – is on a steady march to the Left to win applause from the media and the D.C. establishment.
Barrett recently voted with the liberals to allow Joe Biden to censor conservative speech online.
Barrett voted to reject a petition to hear her case from a Christian florist targeted with government sanction after stating her faith prevented her from providing services for a homosexual wedding.
And Barrett agreed in part with the court’s three liberal justices in denying Trump immunity from prosecution.
Barrett’s transformation into a reliable vote for the Left was complete when she and Chief Justice John Roberts voted with the court’s three leftist judges to deny Trump a stay to stop Judge Juan Merchan from sentencing Trump in the Manhattan show trial.
To make matters even worse, Barrett and Roberts voted with the Left to allow this farce of a sentencing hearing to proceed knowing that for the first time in the trial, Judge Merchan will allow audio in the courtroom.
George Washington Law Professor Jonathan Turley wrote that Merchan wanted a permanent record of him excoriating Trump as the President who broke the law to steal the 2016 election.
“Today, we will see the ignoble end to a raw form of lawfare. What critics will get is the labeling of Trump as a convicted felon, a fact that will then be repeated like a mantra by the media. Merchan can be expected to add to that rhetoric with punishment soundbites. It is a sad day for the New York legal system,” Turley posted on X.
This decision by Barrett will now allow the media to spend all inauguration day calling Trump a convicted felon and the first line in his obituary will now be that he was the first convicted felon to ever take the oath of office.
Allowing this sentencing to go forward also means that Barrett put her stamp of approval on cementing lawfare as a permanent part of the political process.
For his part, Trump took the high road knowing that his intention to appeal means this case will end up back at the Supreme Court, so he didn’t want to antagonize the justices.
“I appreciate the time and effort of the United States Supreme Court in trying to remedy the great injustice done to me by the highly conflicted “Acting Justice,” who should not have been allowed to try this case. Every Legal Scholar stated, unequivocally, that this is a case that should never have been brought,” Trump wrote.
Trump told Americans he was the victim of a show trial.
“There was no case against me. In other words, I am innocent of all of the Judge’s made up, fake charges. This was nothing other than Weaponization of our Justice System against a Political Opponent. It’s called Lawfare, and nothing like this has ever happened in the United States of America, and it should never be allowed to happen again,” Trump added.
Trump slammed Joe Biden campaign donor Judge Juan Merchan as a corrupt partisan who tried to help Democrats win the election by slapping Trump with an unconstitutional gag order.
“To this day, this highly political and corrupt Judge has put a gag order on me, which takes away my First Amendment right to speak about very important aspects of the case.” Trump continued.
Trump said he would respect the decision, but immediately appeal the sham guilty verdict for these made up and nonexistent crimes.
“For the sake and sanctity of the Presidency, I will be appealing this case, and am confident that JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL. The pathetic, dying remnants of the Witch Hunts against me will not distract us as we unite and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump concluded.
