Donald Trump has big plans he wants to accomplish over the next four years.

He’s ready to upend the system in Washington, D.C.

And Laura Ingraham asked one question about Trump’s second term that had Democrats worried.

Donald Trump stresses the need for Greenland

President-elect Donald Trump ruffled feathers in Washington, D.C. and globally when he declared that it was in the United States’ national security interest to acquire Greenland.

Greenland is rich in natural resources and strategically situated between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans.

The island is an autonomous territory of Denmark that has self governance over local affairs.

Trump reiterated the importance of Greenland during a free wheeling press conference at Mar-a-Lago.

“We need Greenland for national security purposes. I’ve been told that for a long time, long before I even ran,” Trump explained. “I mean, people have been talking about it for a long time. I’m talking about protecting the free world.”

He noted the growing interest of the Russians and Chinese in the Arctic region.

“You look at, you don’t even need binoculars,” Trump said. “You look outside, you have China ships all over the place. You have Russian ships all over the place. We’re not letting that happen.”

Greenland and the Arctic are home to vast untapped natural resources like minerals, rare earth metals, oil, and natural gas.

Russia and China are trying to establish footholds in the region to exploit its resources.

Most of the world’s rare earth metals are located in China and Asia.

“[Rare earth metals] go into most forms of national defense, technologies, missiles, tanks, satellites, warships, fighter jets, and so as a result, securing them becomes a national security imperative,” Center for Strategic and International Studies critical minerals security program director Gracelin Baskaran stated.

Laura Ingrahm mocks the media’s phony outrage over Trump’s interest in Greenland

Democrats and their media allies reacted with a mix of surprise and outrage over Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham shut them down with one question on The Ingraham Angle

“If Trump can make a deal for strategically important Greenland, why wouldn’t that be a good thing?” Ingraham asked.

She said this was a valid question, but bringing it up was offensive to the political establishment in Washington, D.C.

“Again, this is something that the media’s hair on fire, but Trump’s right,” Ingraham said. “Back in August, a piece in the Harvard International Review explained how China has tried to take hold of Greenland’s iron and uranium mining industries, and even has Russia involved in the project to establish what they’re calling a polar Silk Road. That would create Arctic dominance.”

The media intentionally downplays the strategic importance of Greenland and that China is trying to gain access to the island’s vast natural resources that are buried under the ice.

“So why is this never mentioned in the media’s coverage of Greenland and Trump’s desire to perhaps make a deal for it?” Ingraham wondered.

The media wants to make it appear that acquiring Greenland is some harebrained scheme Donald Trump cooked up to try and discredit him.
