Donald Trump grinned from ear to ear over this Democrat Party surrender
Donald Trump is less than two weeks away from taking office.
Trump was blindsided by the rumors coming out of Washington.
And Donald Trump grinned from ear to ear over this Democrat Party surrender.
Donald Trump learned in his first term that personnel is policy.
That’s why in preparation for his second term Trump put forth nominees more aligned with his America First vision.
That terrified the swamp and sent the deep state springing into action to launch smear campaigns against Trump’s nominees.
One of the Trump picks facing an attack campaign was Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Trump picked Kennedy to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.
Big Pharma and Big Agriculture were in panic mode over Kennedy’s push to Make America Healthy Again by removing additive chemicals from foods and studying the safety and efficacy of vaccines.
But the lies and falsehoods about Kennedy being an anti-vaxxer fell flat because Kennedy’s concerns about food safety proved popular with the public.
And now even Democrats like John Fetterman (D-PA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) are considering voting to confirm Kennedy.
“As preparations for confirmation hearings begin to take shape, multiple sources say Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and John Fetterman (D-Pa.), in particular, are at least considering voting for Kennedy, noting shared critiques on heavy corporate influence over food and a desire to promote a less chemical-laden country,” the Hill reported.
A source close to Sanders told The Hill that Sanders found common cause with Kennedy over chemicals in the food.
“I definitely think his Senate office will use the opportunity to point out the shortcomings of the industrial food system, supply chains, etc.,” a source close to Sanders explained. “I think they’ve been doing a little of that already.”
Trump told Time Magazine that the concerns about Kennedy being an anti-vaxxer were not based in any reality telling Time that “we’re going to have a big discussion. The autism rate is at a level that nobody ever believed possible. If you look at things that are happening, there’s something causing it.”
Trump said he and Kennedy weren’t opposed to all vaccines, but that they just wanted to study the vaccination schedule for children to make sure every one of them was safe and necessary.
“It could if I think it’s dangerous, if I think they are not beneficial, but I don’t think it’s going to be very controversial in the end,” Trump added.
“I think vaccines are — certain vaccines — are incredible. But maybe some aren’t. And if they aren’t, we have to find out,” Trump continued.
Trump also helped diffuse some of the opposition to Kennedy by arranging for a dinner at Mar-a-Lago between himself, Kennedy and pharmaceutical executives from Pfizer and Eli Lilly.
The Washington Post reported that Trump assuaged the executives fears by noting that if Kennedy led a safety study of vaccines Americans would be more likely to accept the results if it came back positive.
“Here Trump redirected the conversation again, while backing up Kennedy’s desire for more research, two people said. He suggested to the drug company executives that they had nothing to fear from further investigation of the causes of autism, saying Kennedy could help put to rest vaccine hesitancy if no connection was found,” the Post added.
One of the executives at the dinner said all concerned were shocked with how much common ground they all shared.
“Probably shouldn’t say too much about it, but it was all you can imagine, and a little bit more,” Eli Lilly chief executive David Ricks later revealed during an appearance at the Economic Club of Washington. “There’s often more common ground than you’d think just reading the newspapers.”
Donald Trump nominated Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel because he wants to drain the swamp and shake up Washington.
The resistance to Trump’s nominees is fading.
And that means Trump could be well positioned to enact his agenda and avoid some of the pitfalls from this first term.
