Gavin Newsom got a reality check over this scary threat of revenge against Donald Trump
Gavin Newsom wants to send a message to Donald Trump before he takes office.
The California Governor is ready for a rumble next year.
And Gavin Newsom got a reality check over this scary threat of revenge against Donald Trump.
Gavin Newsom prepares to waste taxpayer money fighting Donald Trump
California Governor Gavin Newsom launched his 2028 Presidential campaign seconds after the race was called for President-elect Donald Trump.
He’s eager to position himself as a new leader in the Democrat Party.
Newsom made a name for himself sparring with the first Trump administration.
He’s looking to pick a series of big fights with the President-elect to build his political profile with Democrats for the 2028 Primary.
That’s why Newsom called a special session of the California State Assembly to prepare for the Trump Presidency right after the election.
California Democrats are looking to pass a bill giving Newsom $25 million to file lawsuits against the Trump administration.
“His rhetoric is only heightened and his call for retribution and revenge is pretty clear,” Newsom said about Trump. “We responded to his assault on California, where he tried to unwind our progress. And so what we’re doing now with a special session is not waiting to react to that. We’re preparing for that in a much more sober way.”
California Republican slams Newsom’s 2028 stunt
Former Representative Doug Ose (R-CA) slammed Newsom for pulling this desperate political stunt during an appearance on Fox & Friends.
“I wish my elected leaders would spend their time solving problems rather than creating more problems,” Ose said. “Newsom’s effort to basically fund his campaign for president in 2028 is just going to be a total waste of money that could be better spent on homelessness or schools or public safety and the like. This is just a charade.”
Ose lamented that Newsom was more interested in trying to settle a political score with Trump rather than fixing the growing problems in California.
“Most people in California are struggling so hard and so desperately just to keep their heads above water,” Ose explained. “They don’t have time to confront the Governor on this kind of foolishness. This is just talk. This is just more of the same from Newsom.”
Newsom’s ambitious plan to fight Trump will be limited by the fiscal reality of his state.
California’s budget deficit is expected to grow to $20 billion by 2026.
Ose pointed out that California is facing existential problems that are more important than Newsom’s 2028 Presidential campaign.
“He said he’d enforce the death penalty. He immediately said no,” Ose recalled. “He said he’d finish high-speed rail. Now we’re 100 billion in and we’re nowhere near completion. He said he’d fix K-12. It’s a total failure. Look, Newsom, I mean, you just have to understand who Newsome is, and this is an extremely poor manager.”
The California Governor is laser-focused on running for President instead of fixing his crumbling state.
Gavin Newsom will have a hard time fighting Donald Trump if his state can’t pay its bills.
