Kamala Harris is set to announce her running mate within a week.

But she got smacked with some bad news.

And Kamala Harris ran into this heinous problem with one Vice Presidential pick.

Can Harris pick Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro?

By all rights, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is the obvious choice for Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.

Even though Shapiro governs like a leftist and caters to the teachers unions, he successfully presents himself as a moderate.

And he is the governor of the most critical swing state on the map.

But Shapiro is Jewish and a supporter of Israel.

Neither of those facts mesh well with the growing pro-Hamas base in the Democrat Party.

Even Democrats that like Shapiro think his Jewish faith could be a problem with other leftists.

“I work construction. A lot of guys are very opinionated,” Shapiro supporter Rick Giordano told NBC News.

“So, I would like to see Josh. But I am a little worried with his being Jewish. Doesn’t affect me. I don’t think it affects him. But I worry about the rest of the country if that would hurt the ticket. I hope not,” Giordano added.

Democrats’ issues with Shapiro

Shapiro was one of the few Democrats who sided with Israel following the October 7 terrorist attacks where Hamas butchered 1,200 innocent people.

“I don’t blame them for wanting to engage and speak out,” Shapiro said of Democrats who wanted to protest the war in Gaza.

But he said it was important for them to learn about Hamas wanting to wipe Israel off the map.

“I think that’s really healthy. I think it’s incumbent upon them to know some history and not just enter the conversation in recent weeks but go back and understand what happened in the past,” Shapiro added.

These comments – as well as Shapiro’s position on Israel – were big problems for prominent Muslim activists in the Democrat Party.

Head of the Arab American Institute and Democratic National Committee Member Jim Zogby said Shapiro on the ticket would be problematic.

“He’s got the cadence of Obama and the personal style of Bill Clinton, making you feel like you’re [the only] person in the room,” Zogby told NBC. “But I think he stepped on himself with some rhetoric that was just over the top and unnecessarily so.”

The national chair of the U.S. Palestinian Community Network Hatem Abudayyeh deemed Shapiro the worst pick.

“Somebody like Shapiro would be an absolute disaster since he essentially has made it seem as if the Palestinians don’t have any rights to freedom or self-determination or anything,” Abudayyeh stated.  “He criminalizes our community as a whole and our protest movement.”

Kamala Harris needs to win Michigan to win the election.

But there are 300,000 Muslim voters in Michigan.

And putting Shapiro on the ticket could antagonize the pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat Party and cause them to stay home on Election Day.
