Fox News’ Bret Baier takes Kamala Harris’ side in debate over debates
The polling evidence shows the debate was a flop for Vice President Kamala Harris.
New York Times polls of Sun Belt battlegrounds Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina all showed former President Donald Trump gaining support and taking the lead over her following the debate.
In the debate, Kamala never directly answered any questions about her plans to tackle inflation or the border crisis.
Her handlers knew the debate didn’t go their way because they sent Kamala out to demand a second debate immediately after the first one ended.
She then announced she accepted an invitation to a debate on CNN on October 23.
Trump rejected that out of hand as it was obviously an attempt to ambush him with another rigged debate where left-wing moderators would act like Kamala’s tag team partners in a replay of ABC’s David Muir and Linsey Davis’ biased conduct in the September 10 debate.
Kamala then tried to twist this story into Trump being too much of a coward to debate her again to try and bait him into taking a second debate the polls show she needs more than he does.
And Fox News host Bret Baier signed on to help her push this false talking point.
In an interview with talk radio host Hugh Hewitt, Baier falsely claimed that Kamala would participate in a debate on Fox News.
“The latest is, I actually believe — this is me talking — that the Harris campaign would do a Fox debate … The former President has come to the conclusion that there really shouldn’t be another debate,” Baier stated.
Baier claimed Trump was the hold-up.
“Now, his reasoning, don’t know. I always thought that it would be like a bug zapper in the backyard for the former President in that he couldn’t get away from the light of 70 million viewers and that he would have to eventually, just knowing him, you know, do it if it was on Fox and something he could agree to. I’m getting the sense from him and the campaign that they aren’t moving past it, and really the hold-up is not the Harris campaign and Fox; it is the former President,” Baier added.
Baier’s pro-Kamala Harris talking point falls apart
Baier was pushing misleading messages about Kamala and a Fox News debate.
In rejecting another debate with Kamala, Trump pointed out that she already ducked a scheduled September 4 debate on Fox News which he agreed to participate.
“She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do NBC & CBS. KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Baier left all of this out when he went on his anti-Trump rant on Hewitt’s show.
There could have been a second debate on Fox News between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
It never happened because she will only debate on Democrat networks where pro-Democrat moderators will rig the debate for her.
