A Never-Trump Republican just made this big announcement about 2020
The Washington, D.C. swamp is counting on the 2020 Presidential election to be the end of Donald Trump.
They have a whole host of swamp creatures running on both tickets.
And a Never-Trump Republican just made this big announcement about 2020.
Michigan Congressman Justin Amash became the first Republican to call for Donald Trump’s impeachment.
Amash falsely claimed Attorney General Barr misled the American people about the contents of the Mueller Report and then Amash regurgitated all the fake news and lies about obstruction of justice to claim Congress should remove the President from office.
Republicans that supported Amash were furious and Amash immediately attracted a quality primary challenger pledging to support the President.
Polls showed Amash down 16 points to his pro-Trump primary challenger.
Amash knew he couldn’t win the election so on July 4th he announced he was quitting the Republican Party in a Washington Post editorial.
But we owe it to future generations to stand up for our constitutional republic so that Americans may continue to live free for centuries to come. Preserving liberty means telling the Republican Party and the Democratic Party that we’ll no longer let them play their partisan game at our expense.
Today, I am declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party. No matter your circumstance, I’m asking you to join me in rejecting the partisan loyalties and rhetoric that divide and dehumanize us. I’m asking you to believe that we can do better than this two-party system — and to work toward it. If we continue to take America for granted, we will lose it.
Some pundits believe Amash quitting the GOP is the first step in mounting a bid for President as the candidate of the Libertarian Party.
As a congressman from Michigan, he could draw enough votes to cost Trump the state and possibly the election.
Amash has said in the past he wouldn’t rule out a Presidential run in 2020.
