Nancy Pelosi saw one number that put a giant knot in the pit of her stomach

Both parties are gearing up for the 2022 midterm elections.

Everyone thought Democrats had the advantage.

Nancy Pelosi saw one number that put a giant knot in the pit of her stomach.

Election forecasters and political pundits look at candidates and party committees’ fundraising totals as a signal for which way the political winds are blowing.

And what stood out to everyone was how quickly the ground shifted in favor of the Republican Party.

The National Republican Congressional Campaign Committee reported a record breaking fundraising haul through the first nine months of 2021.

Breitbart reports:

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the campaign arm for House Republicans, announced the committee’s record-breaking fundraising haul of over $105 million raised through September, the first nine months in the 2022 election cycle.

The $105 million raised in the first nine months of the year is a 74 percent increase over the last election cycle, including the committee’s massive third-quarter haul of $25.8 million, which is $10 million more than the NRCC was able to amount in the third quarter of the last cycle. The Republican House campaign arm also raised its largest haul of campaign cash of $12.2 million for an off-year September.

The NRCC is also sitting on a whopping $65 million dollars cash on hand.

In September 2009, fourteen months before the historic Tea Party wave election of 2010 where Republicans gained sixty-three seats in the House of Representatives, the GOP had just $4 million cash on hand.

Donors opening up their checkbooks to Republicans is a sign that the momentum is with the GOP in this cycle.

Nancy Pelosi heads into 2022 with one of the smallest majorities in American history.

Pelosi is looking at the gusher of Republican fundraising for the committee tasked with electing Republicans to the House of Representatives and can’t help but know she is entering difficult political terrain.
