Hillary Clinton got blindsided by this prosecutor’s plan for an indictment
Donald Trump and his supporters waited for this moment.
An old wound for Democrats was just reopened.
And Hillary Clinton got blindsided by this prosecutor’s plan for an indictment.
The New York Times broke the story that special counsel John Durham took analyst Igor Danchenko into custody as part of his criminal investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax.
Danchenko helped gather some of the leads that turned into the infamous Christopher Steele fake news Russian collusion dossier that the Clinton campaign paid for.
The New York Times reported:
Federal authorities on Thursday arrested an analyst who in 2016 gathered leads about possible links between Donald J. Trump and Russia for what turned out to be Democratic-funded opposition research, according to people familiar with the matter.
The arrest of the analyst, Igor Danchenko, is part of the special counsel inquiry led by John H. Durham, who was appointed by the Trump administration to scrutinize the Russia investigation for any wrongdoing, the people said.
Mr. Danchenko, was the primary researcher of the so-called Steele dossier, a compendium of rumors and unproven assertions suggesting that Mr. Trump and his 2016 campaign were compromised by and conspiring with Russian intelligence officials in Moscow’s covert operation to help him defeat Hillary Clinton.
The indictment against Danchenko wasn’t revealed, so it is unclear what charges Danchenko faces.
But Danchenko is the second individual Durham arrested in his investigation.
The first was Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussmann on charges of lying to the FBI in a meeting where Sussmann peddled a bogus story about a server in Trump Tower communicating with Alfa Bank, a Kremlin-linked financial institution.
Sussmann and Danchenko are considered big players in the Russian collusion hoax.
Trump and his supporters hope Durham is using these indictments to build a case from the ground up against some of the big fish such as James Comey, Andrew McCabe, John Brennan, and other Deep State agents who tried to use the Russian collusion hoax to bring down Trump’s Presidency.
In addition, Trump and his supporters hope Durham produces a full accounting of the Clinton campaign’s involvement in fabricating the Russian collusion hoax and bring criminal charges if necessary.
