Dr. Oz made a huge announcement that had all hell breaking loose

Dr. Oz’s struggling Senate campaign took another strange turn.

Trailing in the polls, Dr. Oz compounded his problems with a massive gaffe.

And Dr. Oz made a huge announcement that had all hell breaking loose.

Since entering the race, Dr. Oz has been under fire for his support for transgenderism, abortion, and gun control.

Now Dr. Oz raised questions about his loyalty to America.

Dr. Oz is a dual citizen in the United States and Turkey.

In a recent conversation with reporters, Dr. Oz stated that he kept his Turkish citizenship to care for his mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease.

When a reporter asked Dr. Oz what his dual citizenship with Turkey – an increasingly authoritarian Islamic government – meant for any potential security clearances, Dr. Oz said he would pass on those security clearances to keep his Turkish citizenship.

“When asked about his dual citizenship with the United States and Turkey, Oz explained that he keeps his Turkish citizenship to care for his mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease. When queried what he would do if this would disqualify him from security clearances, Oz agreed that he would forego them in this situation, noting “I can love my country and love my mom,” Politics PA reported.

A firestorm ensued, with critics demanding to know how Dr. Oz could effectively function as an elected official if he swore off security clearances out of allegiance to Turkey.

Dr. Oz sank in the polls behind Wall Street tycoon David McCormick, forcing him to announce he would renounce his Turkish citizenship if he won election to the Senate.

“My dual citizenship has become a distraction in this campaign,” Dr. Oz stated. “I maintained it to care for my ailing mother, but after several weeks of discussions with my family, I’m committing that before I am sworn in as the next U.S. senator for Pennsylvania, I will only be a U.S. citizen.”

Dr. Oz then falsely claimed he only faced these attacks because he sought to become the first Muslim Senator in U.S. history.

“The bigoted attacks my opponent Dave McCormick has made against me as the child of immigrants are reminiscent of slurs made in the past about Catholics and Jews,” Dr. Oz added. “It is a sign of McCormick’s desperate campaign that he’s resorted to this disgraceful tactic. It’s completely disqualifying behavior for anyone aiming to serve in the United States Senate.”
