Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just lost a major ally after saying something you won’t believe
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the biggest rising star in the Democrat Party.
But in recent weeks she has been the center of constant scandal.
And she just lost a major ally after saying something you won’t believe.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez found herself in the media spotlight in recent days after calling migrant detention centers “concentration camps.”
The response was swift and harsh, with the official Auschwitz Museum joining in to call her out.
There is perhaps nothing more horrific in world history than the Nazi concentration camps during World War II.
Six million Jews were exterminated, and many more were worked to the brink of death.
The migrant detention centers in the U.S. are simply temporarily holding those who enter the U.S. illegally.
As it turns out, even New York Governor Andrew Cuomo agrees.
And Cuomo blasted Ocasio-Cortez for her insane comparison.
The Daily Caller reports:
Gov. Andrew Cuomo suggested Wednesday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a fellow New York Democrat, was ignorant about the Holocaust when she compared concentration camps to migrant detention facilities.
“It’s a wholly inappropriate comparison — the Holocaust. You’re talking about a tragedy of biblical proportions and one of the greatest scourges in history,” Cuomo replied when he was asked about Ocasio-Cortez’s comparison during a press conference.
“Six million Jews died during the Holocaust. There is no comparison to the Holocaust. Period,” he continued. “To draw an equivalency suggests one does not understand what happened in the Holocaust.”
When the Governor of Ocasio-Cortez’s home state — a state that’s one of, if not the most, radically Left in the country — attacks her for being insensitive, it’s clear she went too far.
Ocasio-Cortez was trying to score political points by exploiting a most horrific event in human history.
There are still many alive who survived the Nazi death camps, and they are now speaking out against Ocasio-Cortez as well.
