A deadly virus from China just reached America. What does this mean for your family?
A global pandemic the likes of which the world has never seen is on the verge of breaking out.
Tens of millions of people around the world could die.
And now a deadly virus from China just reached America. What does this mean for your family?
The outbreak of the coronavirus in China is only getting worse.
The virus originated in the Wuhan province and the Chinese government now has three provinces on lockdown quarantining nearly 40 million people to try and stem the spread of the virus.
To date, official government tallies report over 2,800 infections with 80 deaths.
But some critics contend the Chinese communist government is underreporting the true nature of the outbreak.
However, the virus can incubate for up to two weeks and infected individuals can spread the coronavirus before the exhibit symptoms.
That fact reduces the effectiveness of travel bans and airport screening procedures.
Americans are learning that lesson as now five cases of the coronavirus popped up in America.
The latest case was in California and state officials tried to reassure the public by explaining the steps people could take on their own to avoid contracting the virus.
“As with other respiratory illnesses, there are steps that everyone can take to reduce the risk of getting sick from circulating viruses, including coronavirus. This includes remaining home when ill, washing hands with soap and water frequently, and getting vaccinated against flu,” Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer explored.
The coronavirus represents the most deadly global pandemic since the Spanish Flu outbreak in 1918 that killed over 600,000 Americans.
President Trump offered multiple statements that the government was on top of the potential crisis and was taking all the appropriate steps to stem the spread in America.
