You won’t believe who William Barr blamed for the riot at the Capitol
It’s been more than two weeks since the riot at the Capitol.
Americans are looking for answers.
And you won’t believe who William Barr blamed for the riot at the Capitol.
Former Attorney General William Barr laid the blame for the riot at the feet of President Trump.
In an interview with ITV News, Barr claimed the President’s challenges to the 2020 election “precipitated” the riot at the Capitol.
The former Attorney General added that while violence was never acceptable, it was inevitable once Americans lost faith in the electoral process, which Barr blamed on Donald Trump.
“Regardless of which side of the political spectrum is involved, we just cannot tolerate violence interfering with the processes of government. I think that when you start suppressing free speech, when people lose confidence in the media, and also when they lose faith in the integrity of elections – you are going to have some people resort to violence,” Barr added.
Critics would argue that what damaged faith in the Electoral Process was Democrats cherry picking friendly judges or using partisan state officials to illegally change mail-in voting laws in key swing states to make it easier for Democrats to swamp Republicans with insecure vote-by-mail schemes.
But nevertheless, Barr blamed the riot on Trump claiming it was his supporters engaging in the violence.
“It was just starting – people attacking, people wearing Trump hats, and things like that. You had the Proud Boys who were on the Right, fighting the Antifa who were on the Left,” Barr added.
There is ample evidence this attack was preplanned.
And at least one left-wing agitator was arrested for participating in the riot.
The evidence suggests that William Barr is wrong.
Donald Trump could not have incited a riot that was already planned in advance and at least one leftist radical saw the rally as an opportunity to create mayhem.
