William Barr hit one Democrat Governor with one reality check that left him stunned
Democrat Governors across America are exploiting the coronavirus pandemic to expand their political power.
They just got some bad news.
And that’s because William Barr hit one Democrat Governor with one reality check that left him stunned.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is one of the most power-mad dictators in America.
Northam ordered a lockdown until June and used the pandemic as an excuse to pass more gun control.
In addition to attacking the Second Amendment, Northam gutted the First Amendment by ordering churches closed.
This led to police in Virginia issuing a citation to the pastor of the Lighthouse Fellowship Church for holding a service in April where just 16 worshippers attended and were spaced out in a facility, which seats 293.
The church filed a lawsuit over the criminal charge and the Department of Justice joined the lawsuit arguing Northam’s order discriminated against religious institutions by banning church gatherings of more than 10 people, but providing exemptions for liquor stores and law offices
“Permitting similar opportunities for in-person gatherings of more than 10 individuals, while at the same time prohibiting churches from gathering in groups of more than 10 — even with social distancing measures and other precautions — has impermissibly interfered with the church’s free exercise of religion,” the Justice Department argued.
“Unless the Commonwealth can prove that its disparate treatment of religious gatherings is justified by a compelling reason and is pursued through the least restrictive means, this disparate treatment violates the Free Exercise Clause, and the Orders may not be enforced against the church,” the filing added.
Attorney General William Barr promised that the Justice Department would begin filing legal challenges to lockdown orders that gutted the Constitution or damaged the national economy.
The filing in Virginia is the first step toward making good on that pledge.
