Germany just proved that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it

The invention of the internet has been both a blessing and curse to the human race.

Even though it brought about advances in society that some never could have imagined, it has also brought with it the scary reality that we’re all being watched.

And Germany just proved that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Censorship and surveillance of innocent citizens aren’t things we just read about in history classes anymore.

Unfortunately, they’re both alive and well in the 21st century.

In Germany, the federal police are conducting mass raids over online “insults” that were levied against politicians.

Police have raided countless homes looking to prosecute anyone who made so-called hateful remarks about German elected officials.

According to reports, German authorities have checked over 600 statements for supposed “criminal content.”

Der Spiegel reported that a large number of raids were performed because the authorities believed the residents were posting messages online about being searched.

In a press release by Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office, the so-called “joint day of action” was triggered by some posts on the web that targeted politicians in the 2021 Federal elections.

Elected officials have special legal status, and it’s illegal for constituents to level certain insults against them.

“The basis for these investigations is Section 188 of the Criminal Code (StGB), which was revised in spring 2021 and makes insults, slander and defamation of people in political life particularly punishable,” the Federal Criminal Police Office statement reads.

Holger Munch, the President of the Federal Criminal Police Office in Germany, blasted those who were insulting elected officials and threatened to arrest anyone who continued the act.

“With the day of action, we are making it clear: Anyone who posts hate messages must expect the police to be at the door afterwards,” Münch said, also noting that his force has been “pursuing criminal content on the Internet even more intensively since February of this year.”

These actions by the German authorities are nothing more than attempts to control the citizens.

Unfortunately for the Germans, there are laws in place that protect these crooked and corrupt politicians.

This is just the most recent move by a tyrannical government that’s become known for trying to keep its people in line.

Germany has become famous for targeting specific political viewpoints, even going as far as to put the country’s populist Party, Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), under surveillance because they are a supposed “suspicious entity.”

Even worse, when AfD tried to challenge the surveillance in court, it was ruled that the state spying on them was legal, with the court stating that they were a so-called “threat to democracy.”

If you think this only happens in countries like Germany, you’re wrong.

Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the radical Left have been laying the groundwork for this type of government for years.

And if Americans keep kowtowing to the Left by complying with things like mask mandates and forced vaccines, it’s only a matter of time before Biden shuts down online posts that insult him for destroying the economy.
