Chris Wallace revealed he quit Fox News over one thing Tucker Carlson did
Chris Wallace was one of the most controversial anchors at Fox News Channel.
Wallace stunned viewers last year when he announced he was leaving Fox.
And Chris Wallace revealed he quit Fox News over one thing Tucker Carlson did.
In an interview with the New York Times, Wallace broke down why he left Fox News for CNN+.
Wallace cited the editorial opinion programming led by Tucker Carlson that caused him to head off to the far-Left entertainment channel.
“I just no longer felt comfortable with the programming at Fox,” Wallace told the New York Times.
Wallace claimed that anyone who questioned the 2020 election or refused to go along with the corporate-controlled media narrative about Trump supporters staging an insurrection on January 6 led him to leave Fox News.
“I’m fine with opinion: conservative opinion, liberal opinion,” Wallace stated. “But when people start to question the truth — Who won the 2020 election? Was Jan. 6 an insurrection? — I found that unsustainable.”
Those were obvious shots at Tucker Carlson, who is best known for poking holes in the media claims about an “insurrection” on January 6.
But Wallace confirmed for the record that he complained directly to Fox News management about Carlson’s Patriot Purge documentary series that debunked much of the prevailing media narrative about the events of January 6.
“He confirmed reports that he was so alarmed by Mr. Carlson’s documentary Patriot Purge — which falsely suggested the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was a ‘false flag’ operation intended to demonize conservatives — that he complained directly to Fox News management,” the New York Times reported.
Wallace claimed that hosts like Tucker Carlson refusing to go along with the Left’s version of events led him to no longer feel comfortable working at Fox News.
“Before, I found it was an environment in which I could do my job and feel good about my involvement at Fox,” Wallace declared. “And since November of 2020, that just became unsustainable, increasingly unsustainable as time went on.”
Wallace then agreed with left-wing critics who claimed Fox News went off the rails and that he should have seen it sooner.
“Some people might have drawn the line earlier, or at a different point,” Wallace explained. “I think Fox has changed over the course of the last year and a half. But I can certainly understand where somebody would say, ‘Gee, you were a slow learner, Chris.’”
Towards the end of Wallace’s run at Fox News, Donald Trump and many of his supporters slammed him for his liberal bias.
Wallace claimed to be a down-the-middle journalist.
But this interview with the New York Times showed that Trump and his supporters’ suspicions were correct about Wallace.
