Nancy Pelosi sat in stunned silence when an interviewer said these two words to her face
Nancy Pelosi is not used to being challenged.
Media members fawn all over her every move.
But Nancy Pelosi sat in stunned silence when an interviewer said these two words to her face.
Nancy Pelosi was in for the surprise of her life when she appeared on Mad Money with CNBC’s famed host Jim Cramer.
Cramer pressed Pelosi on the status of negotiations over the coronavirus relief bill when Cramer called Pelosi “Crazy Nancy,” which is President Trump’s derisive nickname for the Speaker of the House.
After Cramer said “Crazy Nancy” he immediately tried to apologize.
“What deal can we have, Crazy Nancy? I’m sorry, that was the president, I have such reverence for the office I would never use that term,” Cramer said.
“But you just did. But you just did,” Pelosi responded.
Cramer later tried to apologize on social media claiming he was imitating the President to demonstrate the toxic political atmosphere on Capitol Hill.
“I challenge anyone to listen to the interview and think I wasn’t imitating what the president says and how repulsive I find it,” he tweeted.
“It was a tongue-in-cheek attempt to make a point about the harsh tone of negotiations in Washington,” Cramer added. “But it fell completely flat and I apologize for that.”
But POLITICO reported that in a call with Democrats it became clear that Pelosi believes it is in Democrats’ best political interests not to strike a deal on coronavirus relief.
A new bill would hand Donald Trump a legislative victory and send out stimulus checks to voters in the final weeks before the vote.
Coronavirus legislation did not collapse because Donald Trump called Nancy Pelosi mean names.
They fell apart because Nancy Pelosi wants to hold the American economy hostage because it benefits her party.
