Mitch McConnell found out some bad news from Sean Hannity that he never saw coming
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is under fire.
The anti-Trump RINO made the biggest mistake of his life.
Mitch McConnell found out some bad news from Sean Hannity that he never saw coming.
McConnell blinked in his standoff with Chuck Schumer over raising the debt ceiling.
For two months, McConnell stated that if Democrats wanted to use reconciliation to ram trillions of dollars in new taxes and socialist spending through the Senate, then Democrats should use that same process to jack up the national debt by trillions of dollars by raising the debt ceiling.
Instead, McConnell folded after Democrats made empty threats about changing the filibuster to accommodate a debt ceiling increase.
Even a pro-amnesty RINO like Lindsey Graham knew McConnell screwed up.
“Well, we screwed up,” Graham said in an interview with Sean Hannity. “For two months, we’ve promised to the American people that we would not help the Democratic Party raise the debt ceiling so they could spend $3.5 to $5 trillion through reconciliation. At the end of the day, we blinked. Two things have happened: We’ve let our people down, and we made the Democrats believe we are all talk and no action.”
Graham slammed McConnell for making a promise to Americans to fight on the debt ceiling and then going back on his word.
“At the end of the day, every Republican voted against raising the debt ceiling. Every Democratic senator voted for it. But we had a process in place. We made a promise for two months that we would make them do it without our help, and we folded. And I hate that. We are in a hole. We have got to dig out of the hole, and we can’t. We shot ourselves in the foot tonight, but we will revisit the issue in December,” Graham added.
McConnell’s surrender on the debt ceiling outraged grassroots conservatives.
Now it remains to be seen how Republicans move forward from McConnell’s capitulation.
