Joe Biden just admitted to this campaign-ending mistake

Joe Biden’s free ride as a Presidential candidate is over.

The former Vice President is caught up in his first crisis of the 2020 campaign.

And now he just admitted to this campaign-ending mistake.

Biden made news when he told a woman on a rope line that he no longer supported the Hyde Amendment — the federal law that prevented taxpayer funding for abortion except in the case of rape or incest.

The former Vice President repeatedly supported the amendment while in the Senate, and his campaign clarified that Biden still supported the Hyde Amendment.

That lasted all of 24 hours.

Under intense pressure from his Democrat rivals, Biden reversed himself again and said he could no longer support banning taxpayer funding for abortion.

The Washington Post reports:

In a dramatic reversal, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday he no longer supports a ban on federal funding for abortions, known as the Hyde Amendment, a move he announced after a day of sharp criticism from campaign rivals and key Democratic interest groups.

The former vice president announced the change during a speech at the Democratic National Committee’s African American Leadership Council summit in Atlanta, telling the crowd that, in an environment where the Roe v. Wade decision on abortion is under attack in Republican-held states, he could no longer support a policy that limits funding.

“We’ve seen state after state including Georgia passing extreme laws,” Biden said. “It’s clear that these folks are going to stop at nothing to get rid of Roe.

“Circumstances have changed,” he said.

Biden’s “flip-flop-flip” is a prime example of his lack of political skill.

There is a reason his two previous Presidential campaigns flamed out and he spent the better part of 30 years as a national joke.

As a Christian, I am totally AGAINST abortion! And, deeply resent my tax dollars paying for them.

  2. Jeanie says:

Well, that killed it for me! I never intended to support him, anyway. But those in favor of taxpayer funded (my taxes) murder of babies will never have my support.

  3. Bender says:

The answers are so simple for the simple minded. You fools aren’t prolife your probirth after the baby is born you won’t give it health care or an education. Just cry because none of your tax dollars should help anyone. It’s easy to fight for a fetus it’s an actual child you don’t care about.

I don’t think any of the democrat candidates are thinking straight. They claim that President Trump likes to hear himself talk but the main difference is PRESIDENT TRUMP MAKES SENSE AND NOT ONE OF THE DEMOCRATS INCLUDING OUR TWO EX PRESIDENTS AND OUR TWO EX FIRST LADIES. I DON’T KNOW ANYONE WHO THINKS HILLARY IS INNOCENT OF DOING WHAT SHE HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF AND THE AUTHORITIES HAD THE PROOF AND LET HER WALK AWAY AND THEN HER BEST FRIEND OH NANCY SAY TO TRUMP THAT HE ISN’T ABOVE THE LAW AND THERE IS NO PROOF HE DID ANYTHING WRONG EXCEPT FOR WINNING THE ELECTION AGAINST ONE OF THE WORSE CORRUPT FEMALE POLITICAN THERE IS. SHE SHOULD HAVE TURNED HERSELF INTO THE LAW AGES AGO.

  5. Bob the Builder says:

I feel a woman should be allowed to get an abortion any time she wants as long as I don’t have to pay for it and using tax dollars means that I paid for it.

    Vasu:
You are outnumbered by the “pro-choice” Democratic party and as far as your support for the “poor and the downtrodden” churches and soup kitchens help them out along with private donations and NOT taxpayers dollars as the majority of them take advantage of us and never stop asking for more and more money out of our pockets. When you receive government money it makes you lazy so you have a disincentive to fend for yourself. And as far as your belief in the “climate change ” myth which can only be caused by volcanic activity as they spew out millions of times more of these gases than man could ever produce in hundreds of years.

  7. Ok if you have a severely damage fetus and no hope of a productive life been rape and no money because you are on bed rest then held responsible for a baby who was forced upon you. Because no one wants this child medical bill and just watch him or her suffer how fair is this now your taxes money will be paying for this and the heart may beat but at what cost. Yes i could never but then if this happen I would.

This debacle would not have happened if pro-life Democrats were given greater visibility in the mainstream media, rather than relegated to the 1970s. The goal of Kristen Day and Democrats For Life of America really is to make the Democratic Party pro-life on secular civil rights grounds.

The Stupak Amendment was not included in the final passage of health care reform in 2010. The Stupak Amendment would not have restricted “choice.” It would merely have prevented federal funds from subsidizing in the Affordable Care Act a practice millions of Americans find reprehensible, or, at the very least, objectionable.

The vote for health care reform was along partisan lines. And there weren’t enough pro-life Democratic votes for the Stupak Amendment to be included. In the end, we had to settle for an Executive Order from President Obama that federal funds would not subsidize abortion in the Affordable Care Act. To us pro-life Democrats, Bart Stupak is a hero.

If we Democrats prove to the American people *we’re* a “big tent” too, we can easily win, even in red states.

Fifty-nine percent of Democrats favored a ban on partial-birth abortion. (Gallup Poll, November 1, 2000)

Eighty-nine percent of Americans favored informed consent for women seeking abortions. (Gallup Poll, 2002)

Sixty-seven percent of Democrats would outlaw some or all abortions. (Gallup Poll, May 5-7, 2003)

Forty-three percent of Democrats agreed with the statement that abortion “destroys a human life and is manslaughter.” (Zogby Poll, December 2004)

Seventy percent of high school senior females say they would not consider abortion if they became pregnant while in high school. (Hamilton College/Zogby Poll, January 2008)

Seventy-seven percent of Americans believe abortion should have stricter limitations. (CBS News Poll, January 2008)

Twenty-nine percent of Democratic Convention delegates disagreed with the statement, “Abortion should be generally available to those who want it rather than under stricter limits or not permitted.” However, 52 percent of Democratic voters as a whole disagreed. This large discrepancy between party leadership and membership indicates a serious problem that Democrats For Life of America wants to rectify.

During the 2008 campaign, Reverend Jim Wallis (of Sojourners) advised Barack Obama to support a plank in the Democratic Party Platform that would aim to reduce abortions by focusing on supporting low income women and making adoption easier. (This is the 95-10 Initiative, advanced by pro-life Democrats in Congress.) Reverend Tony Campolo served on the Platform Committee and has issued a strong statement in support of a pro-life position.

A “conscience clause” which appeared in the 2000 Democratic Platform (but not in 2004) acknowledges that there are pro-life people in our Party and we respect their views. It reads as follows:

“We respect the conscience of each American and recognize that members of our Party have deeply held and sometimes differing positions on issues of personal conscience, like abortion and the death penalty. We recognize the diversity of views as a source of strength and we welcome into our ranks all Americans who may hold differing positions on these and other issues.”

Kristen Day of Democrats For Life said in 2014: “Roughly a third of the Democratic Party is pro-life. And while many do not call themselves liberal, they share the values which seem to identify with liberalism, particularly a commitment to helping the vulnerable and providing a social safety net.”

The Democratic Party platform should support: Animal Rights, Defending the Affordable Care Act, Ending Citizens United, Ending Marijuana Prohibition, Giving Greater Visibility to Pro-Life Democrats, Gun Control, Net Neutrality, Raising the Minimum Wage to $15 an Hour, Responding to the Scientific Consensus on Global Warming, and a Sustainable Energy Policy.

Here’s what I think and I’m borrowing this from a smart young man
If you are pronounced “dead” when your heart stops beating, doesn’t it follow that you are “ALIVE” when your heart begins to beat?

    • Daniel Brofford says:

The problem is that the democrats have became the enemies of America and her people. They want to change our way of live. They tell us that straight out. You don’t have to have a college level of comprehension to understand that the people are no longer good for our country. We need to vote them out to never regain any power at all. Even at local levels. Every city controlled by the Dems are broke and near collapse. Do yourself a favor and stop pretending that the democrats are something they are not.

  9. Helen says:

I feel that government funding for abortions is a violation of my right to not believe in abortion. You may think it’s your body, but it isn’t. It belongs to God just like the baby you carry. If you didn’t want a baby then you use birth control or abstain from sex. It’s that simple.

  10. Mike says:

What we really is Retro Active Abortion

  11. Joe says:

The Democrat Fight Song: Kill those babies, Kill those babies, Kill those babies, Kill those babies, Kill those babies, Kill those babies, Kill those babi —————————————————-

  12. H Lee says:

The government is supporting too many people now. Nearly every problem in the world can be related to over population. If the people will not take care of this problem, then nature will, either by war, disease, or famine. Abortion to some extent is cruel. But Like Teddy Rosevelt said about shooting game, it saves them the agony of being eaten alive. Abortion does stop future misery.

    • Pamela says:

The best way to stop abortion is to prevent the pregnancy in the first place. If you can make a baby you should be able to figure out how not to..And for those who can’t, maybe sterilization would be in order!

  13. Rodney says:

Maybe if feely touchy joei want to have the government fund their for their abortions, then maybe the government should have both the man and woman pay for it!! Just like Robert said, Birth Control has be around for a long time, there no excuse for a woman to get pregnant anymore, except for maybe in a rape case!!!!!!! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Robert Sylvester says:

Every female in the US has access to multiple forms of birth control in every drug store and Dr.’s office. Birth control has been used for more than fifty years by millions and millions of women. Taxpayers should not be held captive and forced to pay for abortion because you refuse to control your own life – or get mad at “Him” because he got you pregnant – or because months later you suddenly realize “Gee, it’s moving, I guess I need an abortion”. Yes, it is moving – growing – thriving – it is alive – and you created that life. Personal responsibility for one’s actions is one of the “Basic Principles of Human Life” – Be responsible for yourself. “WE TAXPAYERS DID NOT GET YOU PREGNANT” !
