Donald Trump made one threat after his Supreme Court defeat that took Democrats by surprise
Chief Justice John Roberts tried to drive the final nail in the coffin of Donald Trump’s Presidency.
The Washington, D.C. swamp was thrilled with Roberts’ ruling against the President in a major immigration case.
But Donald Trump made one threat after his Supreme Court defeat that took Democrats by surprise.
Some so-called “experts” claimed Roberts handed Trump a gift.
Polls showed Americans support giving amnesty to the children of illegal aliens so they claimed Roberts saved the President from an unpopular fight.
But immigration was the defining issue of the President’s successful 2016 campaign.
When Trump talked about immigration he would win the day’s news cycle.
If Trump drifted to other distractions the fake news set out for him, Trump’s numbers would sink in the polls.
President Trump understood this dynamic and immediately promised to make Obama’s amnesty program a fight that will figure prominently in the 2020 campaign.
“The [court’s] DACA decision, while a highly political one, and seemingly not based on the law, gives the President of the United States far more power than EVER anticipated. Nevertheless, I will only act in the best interests of the United States of America!” the President began.
“As President of the United States, I am asking for a legal solution on DACA, not a political one, consistent with the rule of law. The Supreme Court is not willing to give us one, so now we have to start this process all over again,” President Trump added.
To win in November President Trump needs to refocus the election to make it a choice between himself and Biden.
The easiest way to do that is get the voters attention on the issues.
And there may be no issue in the entire campaign where the gulf between the two candidates is greater than on immigration.
