Tom Homan Just Made an ICE Promise That Should Terrify Every Illegal Alien Still Here

Sanctuary cities promised illegal immigrants they would never have to worry about ICE showing up.

Tom Homan just proved that promise was dead wrong heading into fall.

The number Homan just confirmed for September should make every illegal alien pack their bags.

ICE Just Finished a Historic Summer

Forget the polite word "surge."

What ICE did this summer was a demolition job on every excuse the open-borders lobby has used for the last four years.

DHS confirmed it in black and white: 50,208 arrests in July 2026, then 50,925 in August, according to numbers reported by Breitbart.

That made August the third consecutive month ICE broke its monthly arrest record, after nearly 44,000 arrests in June.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin didn't soften it one bit.

"For the third straight month, ICE set a new record for the highest number of illegal aliens arrested in a single month, nearly 51,000," Mullin said, according to Breitbart's reporting on the DHS numbers.

Then he delivered the line every sanctuary-city mayor needed to hear.

"If you are in the country illegally, leave now. If not, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you."

That is not a bureaucrat reading a press release.

That is a warning.

Homan Says the Agenda Has Not Changed

Every few weeks, some outlet tries to sell the story that ICE is quietly backing off.

Homan keeps shutting it down.

The border czar has repeatedly insisted the administration is not narrowing its deportation agenda, telling reporters the agency is "pursuing a broad range of arrests" and going after "everyone," while prioritizing the worst public safety threats first, according to the Washington Examiner.

Even when Homan has acknowledged the numbers dip in a given stretch, he has made clear he wants more, not less.

"Am I happy with the numbers right now? No, I want more, too," Homan said. "Even though numbers are historic, I want more."

That is the mindset driving the agency into September.

Three consecutive record months.

A border czar publicly demanding more, not less.

And a DHS secretary who has made his message to illegal immigrants as blunt as it gets.

Sergeant News Network, citing Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, reported that Homan confirmed September 2026 is on track to break that August record.

Homan's message on any pullback was blunt.

"There is no pulling back of any kind on their immigration enforcement agenda."

Why This Streak Actually Matters

A pattern is what changes behavior, and this is a pattern.

Illegal border crossers and visa overstayers operated for four straight years under Joe Biden on a simple bet: get in, blend in, and the odds of ever facing a federal agent were close to zero.

That bet just got destroyed.

This isn't luck.

It's a system, and it's working exactly the way Trump promised it would when he ran on mass deportation of criminal illegal aliens.

The Center for Immigration Studies has tracked the foreign-born population declining by roughly 2.9 million since Trump's second term began.

That is not a rounding error.

That is people leaving on their own because they know ICE is not bluffing anymore, and every fresh monthly record makes that math worse for anyone still here illegally.

DHS has been explicit that the arrests aren't random sweeps.

The department has repeatedly framed operations around removing convicted criminals, gang members and, as DHS put it in a release this month, the "worst of the worst" – murderers, rapists and pedophiles living in this country illegally.

That's the difference between enforcement theater and an actual deterrent.

When the guy who raped a child and skated on removal for years under the last administration gets picked up by ICE, that's not cruelty.

That's overdue.

If September really does break 50,000 again, Democrats are going to have a very hard time explaining to the country why they spent the summer calling this agency the problem.
