Tom Homan Faced Margaret Brennan and Named the Real Reason ICE Agents Are Dying

An illegal immigrant tried to run over an ICE agent in Houston and the agent shot him dead in self-defense.
Democrats blamed ICE for the shooting but Tom Homan went on national television and blamed them right back.
What Homan told Margaret Brennan on air exposes the real reason agents keep dying.
Homan Refuses To Let CBS Blame The Officer
Margaret Brennan brought Tom Homan onto Face the Nation Sunday expecting him to apologize.
She got a lecture instead.
Two illegal immigrants tried to weaponize their vehicles against ICE officers this month.
Lorenzo Salgado Araujo did it in Houston on July 7.
Joan Durán Guerrero did it in Maine less than a week later.
Both men are dead.
Both shootings are still under investigation.
Homan wouldn't take Brennan's bait and speculate on fault before the evidence comes in.
He had a different target in mind.
Homan said rhetoric from members of Congress "emboldens some people" to defy federal agents, and he pointed straight at the members who peddle it.
He wasn't talking about the shootings.
He was talking about the members of Congress who spend every week telling Americans that ICE isn't even a real law enforcement agency.
Homan Points To The Rhetoric Getting Agents Killed
Homan has worked immigration enforcement since 1984.
He says he has never seen anything like this.
Assaults on ICE agents are up dramatically this year, and vehicle attacks on officers have spiked even harder than that.
Death threats against agents and their families have exploded right along with them.
Homan didn't invent that pattern.
He watched it build for a year while Tim Walz smeared ICE agents as the "modern-day Gestapo" and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hosted a webinar teaching illegal immigrants how to evade ICE at home.
Rep. Dan Goldman posted a video telling illegal immigrants to have a plan ready for the moment ICE shows up.
Then agents started getting run over.
Brennan tried to pivot to unmarked vehicles, suggesting drivers can't tell who's stopping them.
Homan wasn't having it.
He pointed out that ICE vehicles run emergency lights and sirens, and that agents wear visible insignia the moment they step out of the car.
He reminded her that NYPD uses unmarked cars every single day for the same reason ICE does.
Because criminals run when they see a badge coming.
Democrats Blocked The Body Cameras Homan Says Would End This
Here's the part CBS didn't want to sit with.
Homan says body cameras would settle every one of these shootings in minutes.
Agents in Houston didn't have one.
DHS says that's because Democrats spent weeks holding the department's funding hostage during a shutdown instead of letting body cameras roll out on schedule.
Twenty million dollars was already appropriated for the cameras.
The rollout stalled anyway, and now two men are dead with no footage to settle the argument either way.
Homan wants that fixed immediately.
Homan said he wants Americans watching through the officer's own eyes at the exact moment force gets used, not reconstructing it afterward from someone else's angle.
Not a cell phone clip from a bystander who showed up after the danger already passed.
The actual moment, from the actual officer, with nothing left to argue about.
The Bigger Fight Democrats Don't Want To Have
President Trump already made the call Democrats didn't want him to make.
Vehicle stops are staying.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin briefly paused them out of caution for officer safety, and Trump overruled it within days because the alternative is letting criminals learn that ramming a federal agent's car works.
Every ICE officer who goes to work tomorrow does it knowing Tim Walz and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have never once had a stranger try to run them over with a minivan.
Homan has spent four decades in this fight and he's not backing down from it now, no matter how many times Margaret Brennan tries to reframe a dead illegal immigrant as the victim of American law enforcement instead of the guy who tried to kill an officer to avoid a deportation flight.
He's just the guy who has to explain, on live television, why agents keep pulling the trigger, and that answer keeps landing on Capitol Hill.
