Newly Surfaced Video Just Proved What 9/11 Families Suspected for 25 Years

Nineteen hijackers murdered nearly three thousand Americans on September 11, 2001, while the Saudi government insisted it had nothing to do with it.

Federal investigators just unsealed video evidence that undercuts that denial completely.

What that footage shows a Saudi government employee doing before the towers fell is now at the center of a live federal case.

Al Bayoumi Hosted the Hijackers and Was Caught on Tape Casing the Capitol

The man at the center of this is Omar al-Bayoumi.

He told the FBI in 2001 that he was a simple Saudi student living in San Diego, and the original 9/11 Commission found no credible evidence he knowingly aided extremists.

That conclusion is exactly what two newly surfaced videos are now blowing up.

The first, filmed in 2000, shows Bayoumi hosting a party at his San Diego apartment for hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, who had just arrived in California.

A retired FBI agent who investigated the case says Bayoumi's support went beyond hospitality: he helped the hijackers find an apartment, co-signed their lease, and helped them open bank accounts.

The second video, filmed the year before in Washington, shows Bayoumi at the US Capitol in footage 9/11 Families United says was shot for al-Qaeda reconnaissance.

Former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell reviewed that Capitol footage and did not hedge: "No doubt in my mind that it is a casing video, a casing video for some sort of terrorist attack."

Morell went further, telling investigators al-Bayoumi "was either working for al-Qaeda or was al-Qaeda."

That is not a coincidence a Saudi government employee stumbles into twice.

A Federal Judge Just Cleared the Way for 9/11 Families to Drag Saudi Arabia Into Court

This evidence did not surface in a vacuum.

A federal judge just ruled that 9/11 families can move forward with their long-running lawsuit against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself.

Fox News called it a landmark decision, ending years of Saudi lawyers trying to get the case thrown out before a jury ever saw the evidence.

Western Journal has been tracking the same thread for months, reporting that investigators increasingly believe Bayoumi was not a random grad student but a paid Saudi intelligence asset planted to support the hijackers.

None of this is the first time Washington has slow-walked the Saudi angle on 9/11.

In 2003, congressional investigators produced 28 pages on possible Saudi government support for the hijackers, and the White House kept those pages classified for more than a decade.

Biden's Justice Department sat on a separate FBI document called Operation Encore for years and only released it in 2021 after 9/11 families sued the federal government directly to force his own administration's hand.

Even then, Biden kept pursuing closer ties with Riyadh instead of demanding answers, the same posture Washington has taken toward Saudi Arabia since the day the towers fell: deny first, slow-walk the paperwork, quietly confirm it decades later once nobody has to answer for it.

The Saudis Have Had 25 Years to Explain This and Never Did

Here is what actually fires people up about this story: the Saudi government has spent a quarter century clearing its own name in public while a member of its own payroll was allegedly casing the US Capitol for al-Qaeda.

Riyadh had every opportunity to hand over Bayoumi for questioning after 9/11 and instead helped him leave the country within weeks of the attacks.

If a Saudi diplomat's staffer really was casing federal buildings for al-Qaeda, that is not a rogue employee story, that is a government complicity story, and the families who buried their husbands, wives, and children in September 2001 have earned the right to make Saudi Arabia answer for it in an American courtroom.

Twenty-five years of stonewalling ends the moment a jury sees this tape.
