Schumer Keeps Rejecting Every TSA Deal and Karoline Leavitt Just Told America Why

Chuck Schumer just blocked another vote to fix airport lines.

Republicans gave him exactly what he asked for – and he said no again.

Now Karoline Leavitt is standing at the White House podium explaining something Americans need to hear.

Democrats Keep Moving the Goalposts

The DHS shutdown has now exceeded 40 days.

Nearly 480 TSA officers have quit rather than keep working without a paycheck.

At some airports, 40 to 50 percent of the security workforce is calling out on any given day.

The TSA's own acting administrator, Ha Nguyen McNeil, told Congress this week that airports are experiencing the highest wait times in the agency's history – some exceeding four and a half hours.

She warned lawmakers that smaller airports could close entirely if nothing changes.

Republicans put a deal on the table Tuesday that funded 94 percent of the DHS budget – everything except ICE's deportation division.

That was the deal Democrats said they wanted.

Schumer killed it.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune described the Democratic response in one sentence: "It's not even close to being real."

"They know better," Thune told reporters. "They're asking for things that have already been turned down. So it just seems like they're going in circles."

Sen. James Lankford put it bluntly: "We literally offered what they asked for three days ago and then suddenly it's like, oh wait, now we got new stuff. This has been the story the entire time."

Leavitt Names the Strategy

Karoline Leavitt walked up to the briefing room podium Wednesday and read aloud from a CBS News interview with a TSA officer who just quit his job.

The officer – a father of three – described watching his wife cry every night asking how they would feed the family.

Then Leavitt named what Democrats are doing.

"They'll ask for something," she said. "We'll give them that concession, and then they say, 'oh wait, that's not enough, actually.' The cruelty is the point. They want this chaos."

She added that Democrats want to distract from "the success of our military overseas right now."

House Speaker Mike Johnson was more direct: "Block paychecks for TSA officers and force Americans to wait in lines at airports – while letting criminal illegal aliens skip the line. It's madness."

Sen. Lindsey Graham said Democrats "pulled out of the deal they negotiated" and warned the country is at "high risk."

"I don't know what's driving this train," Graham said, "but they're driving the country off a cliff."

The Move Democrats Cannot Stop

Here is what the Democrat obstruction strategy cannot survive.

Trump and Senate Republicans are now moving to fund ICE separately through budget reconciliation – the same process Republicans used last year to pass billions in immigration enforcement funding without a single Democratic vote.

Reconciliation requires only 51 votes.

Democrats cannot filibuster it.

They cannot stop it.

Sen. John Kennedy, who helped design the two-step plan with Ted Cruz, explained it plainly on Fox News: Republicans open DHS now, then fund ICE through reconciliation and Democrats "don't have the vote to stop us."

That strips them of every piece of leverage they have used to hold TSA workers hostage for 40 days.

The reconciliation vehicle would also carry the SAVE America Act, Trump's flagship elections bill requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote.

Democrats blocked that too – because they know what it does to their voter rolls.

So here is where this stands today.

Democrats built their entire shutdown strategy around using TSA chaos as a weapon to gut immigration enforcement.

Trump just offered them a clean escape route and used reconciliation to take ICE funding completely off the table.

Now Schumer has to decide: end the shutdown with no ICE concessions, or keep TSA workers unpaid through spring break and own the consequences.

Either way, the American people are watching.

And they know who is making them wait four hours to catch a flight.
