Trump Press Aide Stunned CNN Panel With Blunt Diagnosis of Fauci On Air

Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment rather than answer Rand Paul's questions under oath.
Days after the Senate voted to hold him in contempt, a CNN panel got a much blunter verdict on live television.
A Trump aide sitting across from CNN's own anchor gave Fauci a diagnosis nobody on set saw coming.
Trump Aide Caroline Sunshine Diagnoses Fauci Live On CNN
Caroline Sunshine, who worked press for Trump's 2024 campaign, sat down on CNN's NewsNight this week expecting the usual liberal ambush.
Instead she flipped the script.
"Forget about prosecuting him," Sunshine said. "The guy should be in a mental institution."
"He's a textbook sociopath."
Host Abby Phillip froze for a beat before she could even respond.
Sunshine kept going, calling Fauci a "DSM-5 level sociopath who was running our pandemic response."
Low empathy. The ability to inflict pain on innocents. Narcissism.
She listed the traits like a doctor reading a chart, and the panel had no answer ready.
Podcast host Leigh McGowan looked genuinely rattled, and Phillip tried to wave it off as just typical Washington ego.
Sarah Matthews, Trump's own former deputy press secretary, jumped in to defend Fauci.
"There is one person at this table who worked with Dr. Fauci," Matthews said, arguing nobody had ever managed a novel virus before.
Sunshine wasn't buying it.
She read straight from Fauci's own diary: "The media is so hot for me," he'd written. "I've had so many articles written about me."
Phillip pushed back. "Are you suggesting that he should be in a mental institution for having an ego?"
Sunshine didn't blink. "You all in the media, you were in love with him," she said. "You were in love with a narcissist. I'm sorry for you guys."

Fauci Already Facing Contempt Charges Over Lab Leak Testimony
This clip didn't happen in a vacuum, and your uncle already knows why he's rolling his eyes at Fauci again.
Rand Paul spent years telling America that Fauci was lying about gain of function research funding the very lab that likely started this pandemic.
Fauci sat in that same Senate room in July and took the Fifth rather than answer Paul's questions about his own diary and his own testimony.
The Senate Homeland Security Committee didn't buy the dodge either.
Lawmakers voted to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress just days before Sunshine went on CNN and said out loud what millions of Americans have believed since 2020.
The timing is not a coincidence.
The man refusing to answer for his own written words under oath is the same man CNN keeps propping up as a martyr.
CNN Has Been Fauci's Bodyguard Since Rand Paul First Called Him a Liar
Fauci has been running this exact playbook since Rand Paul first called him a liar on national television years ago, and it still works because the press keeps handing him the microphone.
Every time a Republican gets specific, Fauci gets vague, and every time Fauci gets caught, CNN finds a Sarah Matthews to remind everyone how hard his job was.
That's not journalism, that's a bodyguard detail with a paycheck from Warner Bros. Discovery.
Sunshine didn't just insult a bureaucrat, she named the diagnosis Republicans have been dancing around since lockdowns started, and she did it on the network that spent four years protecting him.
A man who takes the Fifth in front of the Senate and then lets sympathetic anchors soften his image on cable news isn't a scientist anymore, he's a defendant running a media campaign.
The committee isn't even waiting on a full Senate floor vote, it's referring the contempt citation straight to the Justice Department, and this time there's no diary left to hide behind.
