Sean Duffy Just Confirmed California Gave Another Killer His CDL

Biden caught him at the border in 2023 and waved him through.

Now two Americans are dead on a California highway – and Gavin Newsom handed the man behind the wheel the keys.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy just confirmed what California desperately doesn't want you to know about Manvir Singh.

Biden Released Him, Newsom Licensed Him

Manvir Singh is a 24-year-old illegal alien from India who crossed into the United States through Arizona in 2023.

The Biden administration caught him.

Then they let him go.

Singh settled in California – the one state that spent the last year defying federal orders to stop handing commercial driver's licenses to people with no legal right to be in the country.

On May 19, 2026, Singh's big rig jackknifed on northbound Highway 99 near Lodi, plowed into a guardrail, and triggered a chain reaction that killed two people.

Then he ran.

California Highway Patrol caught him on foot. San Joaquin County booked him on vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, hit-and-run resulting in death, and resisting a police officer.

ICE immediately lodged a detainer.

DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis didn't hold back: "This criminal illegal alien from India should never have been behind the wheel of a semi-truck and allowed to kill two innocent people in a multi-vehicle crash in California."

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed California issued Singh his CDL – the same state he'd been publicly hammering for months over exactly this kind of reckless licensing.

Newsom Was Warned. He Refused.

In September 2025, Duffy issued an emergency federal directive ordering every state to stop issuing non-domiciled CDLs to people without valid work authorization and to revoke the ones already handed out illegally.

Every state complied – except California.

A federal audit found California had issued more than 20,000 CDLs in violation of federal safety regulations – licenses handed to people whose legal status had already expired, or who had no legal status at all.

California agreed to cancel 17,000 of them by January 5, 2026.

On December 30, Newsom's DMV quietly declared itself a 60-day extension.

Duffy posted two words on X: "Gavin Newsom is lying."

The federal government withheld $160 million in California highway funding.

Newsom's office dismissed the entire confrontation as the administration trying to "score cheap political points."

The Fourth Singh. The Pattern Newsom Refuses to See.

DHS confirmed Manvir Singh is the fourth illegal alien truck driver with the last name Singh arrested for killing Americans since last year.

Jashanpreet Singh – with a California CDL – plowed his semi into stopped traffic on Interstate 10 near Ontario in October 2025, killing three people while allegedly under the influence of drugs.

Kamalpreet Singh crushed a 29-year-old man between two trucks in Washington state in December 2025 – and likely got his CDL in California, where he lived.

Harjinder Singh failed his commercial licensing knowledge exam ten times in two months, couldn't demonstrate English proficiency to law enforcement, and still walked away with CDLs from both Washington and California before killing three people in Florida in August 2025.

DHS named it directly: "a growing trend involving illegal immigrant commercial drivers from India."

Senator Jim Banks put it in plain terms: "So many innocent lives have been lost because of illegals on our roads. It makes me sick reading about these preventable tragedies."

Banks introduced the Dalilah Law – named for five-year-old Dalilah Coleman, permanently disabled after another illegal alien trucker with a California CDL struck her family's vehicle in 2024.

Gavin Newsom has never acknowledged Dalilah by name.

What This Pattern Actually Means

California didn't just ignore a federal rule.

California built a system that moved illegal aliens from Biden's catch-and-release border policy straight into the cab of 80,000-pound machines on American freeways – and then fought the federal government at every turn to keep that system running.

When the last round of deaths hit the news, Duffy said it plainly: "I gave the guidance, Gavin Newsom didn't follow it, and three people are now dead because he refused to follow the rules."

The federal government gave California every off-ramp imaginable – warnings, deadlines, negotiations, funding penalties.

Newsom chose illegal aliens over the lives of his own citizens every single time.

That's not a policy disagreement.

That's a choice – and two more Americans just paid for it.
