PBS Host Margaret Hoover Just Let a Denver Socialist Rewrite the Declaration of Independence

PBS lost its taxpayer bailout for pushing left-wing propaganda.

Margaret Hoover just gave a Denver socialist a friendly hour of airtime on Firing Line.

Before it ended, Kiros made a claim about the Declaration of Independence that should never have survived unchallenged.

PBS Rolls Out the Red Carpet for a Denver Socialist

Melat Kiros just knocked off a 15-term congressional incumbent in a Democratic primary.

Diana DeGette had represented Denver since before Kiros was born, and voters fired her anyway.

In a July 31 PBS interview, Hoover credited the Democratic Socialists of America with a historic surge before asking Kiros to explain it.

She never asked what that surge actually costs regular people.

Kiros answered with a tangle of buzzwords about voter energy and momentum, and Hoover just nodded along.

Then Hoover pivoted straight into praising Zohran Mamdani's 58 percent approval rating in New York City.

She never mentioned that Mamdani just unveiled plans for government-run grocery stores, the exact kind of state takeover he promised on the campaign trail.

That kind of promise deserved real scrutiny, not another friendly follow-up.

The Founding Fathers Line That Should Have Ended the Interview

Hoover did read Kiros a warning, but it came from inside her own party.

She recited New Jersey Democrat Josh Gottheimer's own words back to her, that the DSA are trying to hijack the party, not join it.

Gottheimer has been just as blunt elsewhere, telling Fox News flatly that "Democratic socialists are not Democrats."

Kiros brushed it off in seconds, then dropped the line that should have stopped the interview cold.

Socialism, she argued, is "capable of delivering things like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" better than the system the Founding Fathers actually built.

She did not remind Kiros that the men who wrote those words owned property, built businesses, and fought a war specifically to escape government control, not expand it.

This is the same Democratic Socialists of America that just passed 120,000 dues-paying members on July 4, becoming what the group itself calls the "largest socialist organization in United States history."

That total now beats the peak membership of Eugene Debs' Socialist Party back in 1912.

The DSA's climb didn't happen overnight, the group has grown from roughly 24,000 members in 2017 to where it stands today.

President Trump has already labeled the movement's leaders "hardcore, godless communists," calling it the most serious threat the country has faced since its founding.

Even Gottheimer, a sitting Democrat, thinks his own party's socialist wing is a liability heading into November.

What PBS Just Told You About Where Your Money Went

PBS just proved every conservative argument about it correct in real time.

Congress and the Trump administration already pulled the network's taxpayer subsidy over bias exactly like this.

PBS didn't change its programming one bit, it just found new sugar daddies to keep the lights on.

Media analyst Tim Graham has pointed out that wealthy left-wing donors are now bankrolling the exact same slant taxpayers used to fund.

That donor money confirms exactly what conservatives always suspected, federal grants were never more than a fraction of what actually keeps these networks on the air.

A journalist with any skepticism left would have asked Kiros to square her Declaration of Independence claim with a Constitution built to protect private property from government seizure.

Hoover asked nothing of the sort, because Firing Line isn't journalism anymore, it's an audition tape for a DSA fundraiser.

Voters in Denver already fired one entrenched Democrat this year over exactly this ideology.

Hoover just handed the next one a friendly national stage to sell that same agenda from coast to coast.
