Mike Lawler Went on Fox News and Said Something About Amnesty That Has Republicans Calling for Primaries

Trump just spent a year deporting millions of illegal aliens – and twenty House Republicans just moved to undo it.

Now Mike Lawler is on Fox News selling the plan to Brian Kilmeade's audience.

What he said on air has conservatives across the country demanding every one of them face a primary challenger.

Twenty RINO Republicans Just Signed Their Names to Amnesty

The bill is called the DIGNIDAD Act – named in Spanish, not English, in a country where Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring English the national language.

That's the tell.

Rep. María Elvira Salazar of Florida is the lead Republican sponsor. Rep. Mike Lawler of New York is the most aggressive promoter. Last Sunday, Lawler appeared on Fox News and told the audience the bill has "broad bipartisan support" and represents "common sense" immigration reform.

He called it an earned pathway to legal status.

Rep. Brandon Gill of Texas called it what it is.

"Maria, your DIGNIDAD Act would give legal status to over ten million illegal aliens," Gill said. "It's rank amnesty and everybody knows it. I want dignity for Americans – the people whose interests we represent – not illegal aliens. That means doing what we said we'd do: mass deportations."

Senator Mike Lee was blunter: "When you have to say 'it's not amnesty,' it's usually amnesty."

What the Bill Actually Does

Here is the mechanism – and it matters.

The DIGNIDAD Act creates what Salazar calls a "Dignity Program." An illegal alien who entered before 2021, passes a background check, and writes a $1,000 check walks out with legal status and seven years of deportation protection.

After those seven years expire, nothing forces them out.

Salazar admitted on camera that citizenship is the destination – that the bill's purpose is to keep people here long enough for someone else to deliver the finish line.

The bill also raises per-country visa caps from 7% to 15% for nations including Mexico, China, and India – pumping more foreign workers into American labor markets to compete with American workers for American jobs.

When the White House was asked last year whether Trump would sign it, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was clear: the president would not support amnesty.

The Full List of Republican Co-Sponsors

These are the twenty Republicans who signed on to H.R. 4393:

Rep. María Elvira Salazar (FL-27), Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17), Rep. David Valadao (CA-22), Rep. Young Kim (CA-40), Rep. Gabe Evans (CO-8), Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), Rep. Neal Dunn (FL-2), Rep. Zachary Nunn (IA-3), Rep. Marlin Stutzman (IN-3), Rep. James Baird (IN-4), Rep. Don Bacon (NE-2), Rep. Nick LaLota (NY-1), Rep. Mike Kelly (PA-16), Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), Rep. Lloyd Smucker (PA-11), Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15), Rep. Jennifer Kiggans (VA-2), Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-4), and Rep. Kimberlyn King-Hinds (MP-At Large).

Several – including Dunn, Bacon, and Newhouse – are not running for re-election.

They have nothing to lose. American voters are the ones paying the price.

This Is Exactly What Voters Said No To

The American people sent Trump back to the White House on one specific promise – stop illegal immigration and reverse the damage Biden caused.

Trump delivered.

Lawler himself acknowledged on Fox News that the administration had achieved nine straight months of net-negative border crossings.

And twenty Republicans are now pushing legislation designed to hand legal status to the people Trump is deporting.

Reagan's 1986 amnesty legalized three million illegal aliens and was sold as a permanent solution. What it actually did was tell the world that America rewards people who break its laws – and trigger forty years of illegal immigration that culminated in Biden's open-border catastrophe.

Twenty Republicans just decided to run that play again.

The voters who put Trump back in office know exactly what they're looking at. And they've already started making calls.
