Illinois Judge Freed an Inadmissible Alien Found With Eight Molotov Cocktails and an Apparent Target Map

Police found a twice-rejected illegal alien walking through traffic in a Chicago suburb late at night.

He was carrying eight Molotov cocktails, a fake name, and a hand-drawn map of the area.

An Illinois judge looked at all of that and decided this man belonged back on the street.

Twice Ruled Inadmissible, Then Caught With A Bag Of Firebombs

Hamed M. Alsaidi is 31 years old, and federal records reportedly show he was deemed an inadmissible alien not once but twice, in 2024 and again in 2025.

None of that stopped him from being in Will County, Illinois, walking around a closed gas station in Mokena after dark.

Officers told him to leave. He gave them a fake name, Hakmat Saidi, before officers drove him to another gas station down the road.

Later that night, officers spotted him again, this time wandering through active traffic lanes in the middle of a street.

When they detained him, they found eight Molotov cocktails in his possession, along with a map of the local area.

Investigators say the map referenced a Metra train station and carried a handwritten phrase, "you see the mosque," which authorities linked directly to the Orland Park Prayer Center.

Prosecutors charged Alsaidi with felony unlawful possession of a weapon and misdemeanor obstructing identification.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms is now leading a federal investigation into exactly what this man was planning.

Illinois Let Him Walk, Thanks To The Law Democrats Built

Here is where Illinois politics collides head-on with public safety.

Prosecutors argued Alsaidi was a flight risk given his immigration history and the nature of what he was carrying.

Will County Judge Theodore Jarz released him anyway, citing Illinois's SAFE-T Act, whose statewide elimination of cash bail took effect in September 2023.

Alsaidi is now free, tracked only by a GPS ankle monitor, while the federal investigation into his intentions continues around him.

This is not an isolated misfire. It is the predictable output of a law Illinois Democrats fought hard to pass and defend.

ICE has already warned that Illinois released 1,768 criminal illegal aliens with active detainers since January 2025 alone.

Those releases, according to federal officials, connect to offenders tied to homicides, aggravated kidnappings, and child sex crimes that never should have seen the light of day again.

Illinois House Republican Leader Jim Durkin saw this coming back when Democrats first passed the law. "Crime does pay to the detriment of taxpayers and law-abiding citizens," Durkin said at the time.

Democrats dismissed warnings like that one as fearmongering. Now a man carrying homemade firebombs and a map to a mosque is home on ankle monitoring instead of behind bars.

A Pattern Illinois Democrats Refuse To Acknowledge

Sanctuary politics in Illinois did not start with Alsaidi, and it will not end with him either.

DHS launched Operation Midway Blitz specifically to target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago because Governor Pritzker's sanctuary policies promised them protection.

That operation was named for Katie Abraham, an Illinois woman killed by a criminal illegal alien in a drunk-driving hit-and-run.

Federal officials have separately flagged cases where Illinois released aliens later tied to attempted murder, predatory sexual assault of children, and aggravated kidnapping despite standing ICE detainers.

Every one of those releases traces back to the same philosophy now protecting Alsaidi: cash bail is the enemy, and pretrial detention is presumed unjust no matter what a defendant is caught holding.

Illinois just proved that philosophy has no limit, not even for a man carrying eight firebombs and a map to a house of worship.

Voters in Illinois elected the people who built this system, and they will get another chance to unbuild it at the ballot box.

Until then, ICE and ATF are left to track a man the state's own courts decided was not worth holding.
