Ilhan Omar Found Her Own Daughter Named in a Damning State Department Report and Her Response Stunned Everyone

Isra Hirsi flew to Communist Cuba and called the experience nothing short of revolutionary.

Her convoy just landed in a federal report tying it straight to a CCP propaganda machine.

When a reporter confronted Ilhan Omar about the findings, her three-word response said everything.

State Department Names Hirsi In Communism Report

The State Department released a report titled "Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism."

It names Isra Hirsi, daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), among a group of "influential progressives" who traveled to Havana in March as part of the Nuestra América Convoy.

Twitch streamer Hasan Piker made the same trip.

Piker had also recently taken a Beijing-sponsored propaganda trip of his own.

The convoy hauled aid to Havana while brushing past a U.S. oil blockade Trump imposed on the Castro regime.

Hirsi didn't downplay the trip when she got home.

She called it transformative on Instagram, saying Cuba changed her and that American reporting on the island was mostly propaganda.

She said she'd never felt such optimism and revolutionary spirit.

Political correspondent Nicholas Ballasy asked Omar directly whether her daughter took money from the Cuban regime or any organization tied to it.

Omar flatly denied it.

Then Ballasy asked about the State Department's findings themselves.

Omar didn't engage with a single detail in the report.

"Why would she care?" Omar said. "It means nothing to me. Or her. It's a waste of ink."

Asked whether Hirsi might take more trips to Communist countries, Omar shrugged that off too, saying her daughter would keep doing whatever she felt like doing no matter who objected.

A congresswoman just told America her daughter answers to nobody, not even the State Department.

Congress Is Already Circling The Money Behind The Convoy

Hirsi's trip didn't happen in a vacuum.

The convoy included The People's Forum, a New York nonprofit Republicans have spent over a year tying to Shanghai-based businessman Neville Roy Singham.

Singham sold his tech company for hundreds of millions of dollars, moved to China, and has been accused by multiple members of Congress of bankrolling a network of far-left groups that push CCP-aligned messaging inside the United States.

House Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith has called The People's Forum a likely CCP-funded propaganda arm operating under tax-exempt cover.

His committee says Singham funneled more than $20 million into the group through shell companies and donor-advised funds.

Smith's committee didn't stop at letters.

It subpoenaed The People's Forum, BreakThrough News, and Tricontinental after the groups refused to hand over documents.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley separately asked the Justice Department to investigate whether The People's Forum and Code Pink, who also joined the Cuba convoy, should be forced to register as foreign agents under FARA.

Singham himself is now under criminal investigation by a federal grand jury in New York over possible tax and foreign agent violations.

Hirsi joined a delegation connected to that exact network less than five months ago.

Her mother's dismissal hasn't slowed Congress down for a second.

The Grand Jury Isn't Calling It A Waste Of Ink

Omar didn't dispute a single fact in the State Department's report.

She didn't request a correction, demand a retraction, or point to an error.

She just declared it meaningless and moved on, because that's what you do when the facts are already true.

Hirsi's trip put her in the same convoy as groups Congress has already subpoenaed over alleged Chinese Communist Party ties.

Her mother's answer to that was a shrug and an insult aimed at the reporters asking about it.

Meanwhile the convoy stayed in a five-star Havana hotel while ordinary Cubans sat through blackouts with no power and no water.

Hirsi doesn't appear to hold a full-time job since graduating from Barnard, and was reportedly selling used clothes online before the trip.

Omar's office says her daughter paid her own way and raised the rest through donations.

That's a lot of used clothes.

Grassley and Smith aren't asking Omar's daughter to explain herself.

They're asking the Justice Department to explain why a foreign-linked network keeps operating tax-free while Congress waits on documents it already subpoenaed.

Omar can call that a waste of ink all she wants.

The grand jury looking into Singham isn't wasting anything.
