Democrats faced this scary reality check about Donald Trump

Democrats thought they had President Trump right where they wanted him.

But Democrats made one bad mistake.

And Democrats faced this scary reality check about Donald Trump.

Democrats and their tag team partners in the media were positively giddy over polls that showed President Trump’s approval ratings at the lowest level of any incoming President.

But CNN data analyst Harry Enten put a quick end to this era of good feelings on the Left.

Enten broke down the polls and said Democrats just looking at the surface numbers missed the forest for the trees.

The polls, Enten explained, actually showed President Trump at the peak of his popularity.

“What are we talking about? His net favorable rating right now comes in at minus four points. Compare that to where he was when he won in November of 2024, when he was at minus seven points, or March of 2017 when he was at minus 10 points,” Enten explained.

The days of Presidents having 60-70 percent job approval when entering office are long gone as the electorate is polarized with few swing voters.

Trump has a high floor because of his large and loyal base.

Enten reminded CNN viewers that Trump also outperformed the polls in three straight Presidential elections meaning Trump is likely even more popular than polls show.

“So, when you compare Trump against himself, he’s actually closer to the apex than he is to the bottom of the trough. And, of course, that’s so important because Donald Trump, historically speaking, has had his numbers underestimated,” Enten added.

Enten said there was also one more number to pay attention to.

That was the right track number.

And under President Trump, Marist found the right track number at its highest level since 2009, and NBC showed the highest number of Americans saying the country is on the right track in 20 years.

“So, let’s take a look at the percentage of the country who say that we’re on the right track. It’s actually a very high percentage when you compare it to some historical numbers. What are we talking about? According to Marist. 45 percent say that we’re on the right track,” Enten continued. “That’s the second highest that Marist has measured since 2009. How about NBC News, 44 percent. That’s the highest since 2004.”

Furthermore, Enten said these are the right numbers of what incumbent parties want to see.

“The bottom line is, the percentage of Americans who say we’re on the right track is through the roof. And if you were to compare it to when presidents have historically been re-elected, of course, Trump is not constitutionally eligible to run for re-election, but I think it sort of puts it in perspective, 42 percent of the country says the country is on the right track when the incumbent party is re-elected,” Enten stated.

These numbers stand in stark contrast to historic lows of Americans thinking the country was on the right track under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

“And also keep in mind, back when Kamala Harris lost and the Democrats were turned out of power, only about 27 to 28 percent of the country said the country was on the right track. The bottom line is, right now, a much higher percentage of the country says we’re on the right track,” Enten concluded.

Gas and egg prices are down.

Mortgage rates keep falling.

The border is secure.

President Trump took care to start solving the main problems of inflation and the border crisis, so Americans are more optimistic about the country’s future.
