California Republican Congressman Darrell Issa chaired a hearing about his legislation to limit the ability of district court judges to make federal policy through nationwide injunctions.
The ability to block executive orders and other executive branch actions through nationwide injunctions creates a system where the true power in America resides with more than 600 district court judges and the President serves as their subordinate begging for permission before being able to make policy decisions.
One of the most absurd examples of this phenomena was a District Court Judge in San Francisco blocking President Trump from ending Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelan illegal aliens even though in the first Trump term the leftist Ninth Circuit ruled that the President ending Temporary Protected Status isn’t subject to judicial review due to the plain language of the relevant statute.
What these Democrat district court judges are effectively telling the American people with their rulings is that Donald Trump doesn’t get to be President.
Trump and supporters like Elon Musk called on Congress to assert its Constitutional power of impeachment and remove these rogue judges from the bench.
Crockett hijacked the hearing to rant and rave about how President Trump supporting the impeachment of outlaw judges issuing lawless rulings meant the end of the American experiment.
“The problem that we have right now is that if we continue down this road, then we will not have a rule of law, because we have people that are currently serving and they’re saying things like, ignore the judge’s order,” Crockett began.
Crockett stated that if you didn’t like a judge’s ruling you appealed it – which is exactly what the Trump administration is doing right now.
“What it means to have law and order in this country is that you follow the order and you go through the appeals process, even if you dislike what the judge did. Thank you. And I yield a question for me, which I’ll yield to you now that there’s no time left,” Crockett concluded.
Crockett yielded the remainder of her time which Issa then used to call on himself to speak.
For as much as Crockett railed about President Trump supporting impeaching judges for their abuse of power, Crockett was guilty of an actual offense.
Issa reminded Crockett that she co-sponsored Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s articles of impeachment against Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas after the fake news invented bogus corruption scandals.
“But I’ll take my own time. I’ll recognize myself, and I’m going to note that when Miss uh, Casio Cortez, Cortez, or AOC, as we know her, filed articles of impeachment, uh, on Justice Thomas and Alito, Miss Crockett was one of the co-sponsors along with Mr. Cohen, both members of this committee,” Issa began.
Issa called out Crockett and her fellow Democrats for acting like the judiciary was sacrosanct after spending years attempting to delegitimize the Supreme Court following the 2022 Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.
“It does seem interesting that when the shoe is on the other foot, everyone is self-righteous, and I think this is a good example for the last three hours, I have had to listen to one side talking about impeachment as though it was the nature of this hearing. It is not,” Issa concluded.
