Democrats Chased Kyrsten Sinema Into a Bathroom and She Just Joined a “Conservative” Newsroom for Revenge

Democrats literally followed Kyrsten Sinema into a bathroom stall to punish her for protecting the filibuster.
Now she's writing for a conservative news outlet – and the same Democrats who sicced activists on her are watching from the sidelines.
This is what it looks like when the party of tolerance finishes destroying one of its own.
The Mob That Started It All
It was October 2021, and Sinema was guilty of one crime: refusing to rubber-stamp Joe Biden's $3.5 trillion spending binge.
That was enough.
A radical activist group called Living United for Change in Arizona cornered the Arizona senator as she left her classroom at Arizona State University.
They followed her into a women's restroom.
They filmed her through a closed stall door.
One activist stood outside the stall and told her, "Just like we got you elected, we can get you out of office if you don't support what you promised us."
Biden's response when asked about it? "I don't think they are appropriate tactics, but it happens to everybody."
That was it.
The media called it a protest.
Joy Behar called Sinema an enemy of democracy.
MSNBC's Joy Reid posted "Arizona, you up?" – mocking Sinema for daring to write an op-ed defending the filibuster.
This is how the Democratic Party treats members who don't fall in line – and Sinema was just getting started learning that lesson.
What They Did When She Left
In 2022, Sinema had seen enough.
She changed her party registration to independent and declined to run for re-election in 2024.
The left celebrated.
Then came the revenge.
Emails obtained by the New York Post revealed that inside Biden's Justice Department and FBI, officials were discussing opening a criminal investigation against Sinema in February 2024 – fourteen months after she left the party.
D.C. prosecutor Elizabeth Aloi raised the idea of charging Sinema with campaign finance violations, and FBI special agent Walter Giardina immediately volunteered: "I'm interested in looking at the Sinema referral if its [sic] something you're looking to assign."
Her chief of staff Daniel Winkler called it exactly what it was: "Walter Giardina, who led politically motivated investigations at the FBI, sought to investigate Kyrsten for partisan political reasons after she defied Biden and the Senate Democrats to protect the filibuster."
The investigation never went forward – not because they didn't try, but because prosecutors couldn't find anything worth pursuing.
You flee the mob, and the mob sends law enforcement after you.
Where She Lands
On Monday, the Washington Reporter announced that Sinema is joining the outlet as a contributing columnist.
The Washington Reporter was founded in 2024 by former Republican congressional aides Brian Colas and Garrett Ventry, with more than $1 million in backing from conservative donors and operatives.
Colas made no apologies for the hire.
"The Reporter is a center-right publication, but our aim is to reach a bipartisan audience," he said.
"For Sen. Sinema, our Republican audience finds her insights fascinating, especially on policy debates like AI and drug pricing and financial services."
The response from Washington, Colas said, has been "unanimously positive."
The Democrats Who Destroyed Her Now Need What She Saved
Think about the irony the Democrats are living with right now.
Chuck Schumer spent years pressuring Sinema to kill the filibuster.
Joy Behar called her an enemy of democracy on national television.
Biden's own Justice Department tried to build a criminal case against her.
And today – with Republicans in control of the Senate and Donald Trump back in the White House – Chuck Schumer is using that same filibuster as his only weapon.
The procedure Sinema protected at enormous personal cost is the one thing standing between Schumer and total irrelevance.
He owes her.
He won't say it.
And Kyrsten Sinema is done waiting for Democrats to treat her like a human being.
She's writing columns for a conservative newsroom and the Republican Hill staffers who call her insights "fascinating" aren't returning Schumer's calls.
The Democrats didn't lose her because she failed them.
They made their choice.
So did she.
