Clint Eastwood faced a moment of truth after police made this arrest
Clint Eastwood is a Hollywood legend.
The Academy Award winner stared down a major personal crisis.
And Clint Eastwood faced a moment of truth after police made this arrest.
Clint Eastwood’s daughter won’t face criminal charges
Clint Eastwood’s daughter Francesca was arrested by Beverly Hills police in mid-October on domestic violence charges.
“Officers conducted an investigation, and based on statements and injuries, Francesca Ruth Fisher Eastwood of Los Angeles was arrested for a felony, PC 273.5 – Domestic Violence, and was booked at BHPD Jail,” Beverly Hills Police Department Lt. Andrew Myers told the Los Angeles Times.
The Times reported that a judge released Francesca Eastwood on $50,000 bail.
“L.A. County Sheriff’s jail records confirmed that the 31-year-old was booked at 11:13 p.m. and her bail was set at $50,000. No information on her release date was immediately available but she was due in court Tuesday morning,” The Los Angeles Times reported.
Six weeks later, TMZ reported that Francesca Eastwood won’t face criminal charges as her boyfriend refused medical attention and wouldn’t cooperate with police.
“We’re told the alleged victim in the case — Francesca’s boyfriend — would not cooperate with law enforcement and turned down medical treatment … so, the D.A.’s office isn’t prosecuting,” TMZ reported.
The alleged incident occurred when the two were driving and Francesca’s boyfriend called the police to say he was being attacked.
“We’re told he called the cops who advised him to drive to the Beverly Hills Police Department to meet with officers,” TMZ reported.
Once at the station, police observed injuries on Francesca’s boyfriend, but he refused medical attention.
“Francesca and the boyfriend showed up, police spoke to the pair … and, after they say they observed physical injuries on his body, proceeded to arrest Francesca,” TMZ also reported.
Since the boyfriend wouldn’t cooperate with authorities the District Attorney had no choice but to drop the case.
“Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the D.A. decided in October not to prosecute the case — citing insufficient evidence,” TMZ’s report continued.
Francesa Eastwood has a role in her father’s latest film, Juror #2.
A legal thriller starring Toni Collette, Nicholas Hoult, and Kiefer Sutherland.
Hoult plays a journalist who killed a woman – played by Francesa Eastwood – in a car accident and finds himself on the jury for the trial of the woman’s boyfriend wrongly accused of the murder.
The movie had a limited theatrical run and it premiered on the streaming service Max on December 20.
Clint Eastwood is 94-years-old and this may very well be his final film.
The media focus can now shift to the film’s merits – it sits at 93% on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes – instead of any legal issues involving one of the film’s stars, who just so happens to be the legendary director’s daughter.
