Border crossings have gone down dramatically since Trump took office 

The southern border was in chaos for four years under former President Joe Biden after he rolled out the welcome mat for illegal aliens. 

President Donald Trump had a tall task on his hands to secure the border after he took office. 

The power of deterrence is working at the southern border under him. 

“Border Czar” Tom Homan revealed that there’s been a dramatic drop in illegal border crossings during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Sunday Morning Futures. 

“We’ve got the numbers this morning. The crossings on the border are down 93%. 93%!” Homan exclaimed. “That’s a bigger decrease than under the first Trump administration.”

The Trump administration announced that the border was going to be closed and that deterred illegal aliens from trying to cross it. 

“So, look, I said it, President Trump’s the game-changer,” Homan continued. “No one has had the success he’s had in securing the border. He clearly understands we can’t have strong national security if we don’t have border security. We need to know who’s coming in, what’s coming in, where, and why.”

Mass deportations are ramping up 

The Trump administration is off and running with its plan for the mass deportation of illegal aliens. 

“We’ve achieved success on the border already,” Homan stated. “We’ve got more work to do. And as far as the deportation operation, I think we got 5,000 arrested the first week, and a majority of them being criminals.”

The first phase of mass deportations is targeting illegal aliens who’ve committed crimes or are national security threats. 

Homan noted that illegal aliens who haven’t committed a violent crime were being swept up “in sanctuary cities because you force us into the community rather than arresting the bad guy in jail, and when we find that criminal, he’s most likely with others, and they’re going to go, too.”

“If you want to be a sanctuary city, you’re going to get more agents in the community,” Homan noted. 

The “Border Czar” said in another interview with ABC’s This Week that deportations would be ramping up in the coming months. 

“You’re going to see the numbers steadily increase, the number of arrests nationwide, as we open up the aperture,” Homan said. “Right now, it’s concentrating on public safety threats [and] national security threats. That’s a smaller population.”

Congress is working on passing a border security bill that would fund Trump’s mass deportation operation. 

Homan wanted 100,000 new beds for illegal aliens who are detained awaiting their deportation flights. 

“Congress needs to come to the table quickly and give us the money we need to secure that border,” Homan stated. 

The Trump administration is already paying dividends on border security by sending a message to illegal aliens that the southern border is closed.
