J.D. Vance wasn’t prepared for what he saw.

The pushback to the White House’s agenda is more dangerous than he ever imagined.

And a secret memo leaked that left J.D. Vance on red alert about this scary problem.

Leaked memo reveals cartels are ready to attack Border Patrol agents

The Mexican drug cartels hit the jackpot under former President Joe Biden.

A wide-open southern border allowed them to flood the country with deadly drugs like fentanyl and ramp up their human smuggling operation.

President Donald Trump got to work sealing the border on his first day in office.

The cartels aren’t happy about losing their easy access to the United States.

An internal memo obtained by the New York Post titled “Officer Safety Alert” warned the cartels were preparing to use drones loaded with explosives for attacks on Border Patrol agents.

“On February 1, 2025, the El Paso Sector Intelligence and Operations Center (EPT-IOC) received information advising that Mexican cartel leaders have authorized the deployment of drones equipped with explosives to be used against US Border Patrol agents and US military personnel currently working along the border with Mexico,” the internal Border Patrol memo stated.

“It is recommended that all US Border Patrol agents and DoD personnel working along the border report any sighting of drones to their respective leadership staff and the EPT-IOC,” the memo added.

Border Patrol agents were told to wear their body armor, take first aid kits with them on patrol, and have their weapons handy.

The memo warned that cartel leaders were upset with increased border security cutting into their human trafficking and drug smuggling business.

Cartels are ready to escalate things after Trump secures the border

Social media posts from the cartels have urged illegal aliens to spit on Border Patrol agents and to be as uncooperative as possible.

Other posts urged attacks on Border Patrol agents.

Kamikaze drones have been utilized on the battlefields of Ukraine and in the Middle East.

The cartels are apparently willing to use this tactic as the Trump administration ramps up its border security efforts.

Cartel gunmen have already opened fire on Border Patrol agents.

Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas were shot at from the Mexican side of the border by cartel members.

The Border Patrol agents returned fire which caused the cartels to retreat.

No one was injured in the exchange.

Trump designated the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and has hinted that military action against them was on the table.

Border Patrol agents being attacked by the cartels would increase the possibility of the military being used against them.

U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) proposed authorizing private parties to target the cartels using a 19th-century order known as a letter of marque and reprisal that authorized privateers to attack and seize treasure from foreign ships.

“Congress could issue letters of marque and reprisal authorizing private security firms or specially trained civilians to intercept cartel operations, particularly those involving drug shipments or human trafficking across borders,” Lee wrote on X. “Focus on disrupting supply lines, capturing high-value targets, or seizing assets like boats, vehicles, cash, gold, or equipment used in criminal activities.”

The cartels are playing a dangerous game threatening to attack the Border Patrol.
