A New CBS Poll Just Revealed How Many Democrats Now Prefer Socialism to Capitalism

A socialist became the face of the Democratic Party in New York City and it’s spreading.

Now a new CBS poll shows exactly how far that shift has spread across the rest of the party.

That poll reveals a number of Democrats who now say they prefer socialism over capitalism that should worry every American.

Fifty Eight Percent of Democrats Now Say Socialism Is Good

CBS News and YouGov just published a poll that Democratic Party leadership does not want you reading closely.

Fifty eight percent of Democrats told pollsters they have a positive view of socialism.

Their view of capitalism landed well below that number in the same poll.

This is not a fringe result from some obscure think tank survey nobody trusts.

This is CBS News, one of the same networks that spent years insisting concerns about socialism creeping into the Democratic Party were right-wing paranoia.

Their own poll just confirmed the paranoia was justified all along.

Democrats did not stumble into this number by accident.

Gallup found the exact same pattern years ago, back in 2018, when Democrats first told pollsters they viewed socialism more favorably than capitalism.

That was not a blip.

That was the beginning of a trend line that has only gotten worse for eight straight years.

Every election cycle since then, Democratic leadership has promised voters the party was moving back toward the center.

This new CBS number is the proof that promise was never true.

A Party That Already Nominated a Socialist for Mayor of New York City

Look at what the Democratic Party has actually done with that shift, not just what the polls say.

Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic primary for mayor of the largest city in America without hiding the socialist label for a second.

Fox News called the result a complete disaster the moment primary voters made their choice.

Party strategists quoted afterward admitted openly that the primary signaled a generational shift inside their own coalition.

The socialist candidate did not apologize for the label.

He compared his own rise to FDR and bragged that socialist candidates can win elections anywhere in the country, for any office they want.

His actual agenda is not some abstract campus theory.

He is promising city-run grocery stores, a rent freeze on stabilized apartments, and free city buses, all paid for with new taxes on businesses and top earners.

Economists who reviewed the plan, including a former Obama Treasury secretary, have already said it is not good for New York.

Grandparents who lived through the Cold War know exactly what that kind of confidence sounds like, and it should not feel comfortable to anyone who remembers how those systems actually end.

New York City is not some fringe town nobody notices.

It is the media capital of the entire country, and its next mayor may be a man who wants to run it on socialist principles.

That is not a hypothetical debate anymore.

That is a live experiment about to play out in front of the entire nation.

Why Young Democrats Keep Falling for a System That Always Fails

Socialism has wrecked Venezuela in ways nobody old enough to remember could deny.

Bread lines, currency collapse, mass exodus, all of it well documented and none of it disputed by serious economists.

Analysts at the American Enterprise Institute compared young Americans wanting to live under socialism to wanting to attend school at Hogwarts.

It sounds wonderful right up until you remember it does not exist anywhere without turning into a nightmare.

Democrats keep selling voters a fantasy version of socialism that has never once matched the real thing anywhere it has actually been tried.

This new CBS poll is not a random data point.

It is proof that the fantasy is working, and Republicans heading into the midterms now have the receipts to prove exactly who Democratic voters really are.

Sadly, it’s not just Democrats and it’s not just Venezuela.

America is for all intents and purposes already a socialist state, depending on where you fall on the ladder.

The elites get their losses socialized but reap the gains privately.

Healthcare was socialized under Obama and John McCain killed repealing it out of spite for Trump.

No one wants to buy US bonds anymore.

The treasury just intervened to prop up the bond market.

But your kids and grandkids can’t buy a house or start families.

Charlie Kirk tried to warn of the consequences of that before someone, or multiple someones, killed him.

That problem that is now staring at us down the barrel of the economy.

None of that is to say the answer is more socialism.

The answer is less socialism.

But that requires people everywhere on the economic ladder to give up the bennys they feel entitled to.
