Democrats clog the courts with frivolous lawsuits against Donald Trump

Democrats are going back to the playbook they used to stymie President Donald Trump in his first term. 

Blue state attorneys general would go judge-shopping to find a friendly one who would issue a temporary restraining order or a nationwide injunction to halt a policy by the Trump administration. 

Democrat-appointed judges refuse to let Trump be President by stopping him from carrying out essential functions of the Presidency for political reasons. 

The lawsuits are ramping up against almost every action the President has taken since he entered the White House. 

Five Democrat judges blocked different parts of Trump’s executive orders in one day. 

Democrat attorneys general found a friendly judge in Rhode Island who was willing to give them what they wanted politically. 

Rhode Island District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr. issued a temporary restraining order that blocked any freeze on federal funding by the Trump administration, which was broader than what the Democrat attorney generals were seeking. 

The judge also ordered that any funding frozen by the administration be restored, including for former President Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill and the Inflation Reduction Act. 

McConnell argued the Trump administration was ignoring a prior court ruling about unfreezing federal spending. 

The judge threatened to bring criminal contempt of court charges against members of the administration for ignoring the court’s ruling even if his ruling is eventually overturned. 

“Persons who make private determinations of the law and refuse to obey an order generally risk criminal contempt even if the order is ultimately ruled incorrect,” McConnell Jr. wrote.

Judge McConnell Jr.’s ruling prevents Donald Trump from being President by unconstitutionally limiting the powers of the office. 

Democrats knew they could count on a favorable ruling from him because he’s one of them. 

McConnell Jr. donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democrat candidates while he was an attorney. 

Federal Election Commission (FEC) campaign finance records show he donated to former Presidents Barack Obama, Biden, Hillary Clinton, and U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI). 

McConnell Jr. donated roughly $190,000 to Congressional Democrats while giving more than $200,000 to various Democrat state parties. 

He was also head of the Rhode Island chapter of Planned Parenthood. 

McConnell Jr.’s wife, Sara Shea McConnell, whose career is listed as a homemaker on FEC forms, donated more than $250,000 to Democrat candidates including over $28,000 to Obama’s first Presidential candidate. 

Obama appointed him to the federal bench in 2009. 

Conservative attorney Ed Whelan predicted that McConnell Jr.’s background could eventually backfire on him. 

“As someone who wants Trump to abide by all judicial orders, I have to say that Trump probably welcomes a confrontation with this fatcat donor of Sheldon Whitehouse’s who has celebrated and endorsed critical race theory and who got a surprisingly mediocre rating from ABA,” Whelan wrote on X.
