Todd Blanche Just Handed Ilhan Omar the One Right Democrats Ripped Away From Trump

Judge Juan Merchan looked at a former president in a Manhattan courtroom and threatened to put him behind bars.
The lawyer at Trump's side in that courtroom now runs the Justice Department.
Ilhan Omar's loudest complaint just ran headfirst into what he decided about her case.
Blanche Told Miranda Devine the DOJ Is Not Trying to Silence Omar
Attorney General Todd Blanche sat down with Miranda Devine on Pod Force One on October 14, two days after federal agents searched Omar's Washington home.
Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a warrant at the Minnesota Democrat's house on October 12 and walked out with her passport and her phone, according to Fox News.
Investigators are digging into whether Omar or her father falsified the immigration records behind her citizenship.
Border czar Tom Homan has already said that if the fraud is proven, Omar could be stripped of that citizenship entirely.
Blanche would not discuss the evidence.
But he left no doubt about one thing.
"We're not trying to keep her quiet," Blanche told Devine.
No gag order.
No muzzle.
No motion asking a judge to stop Omar from talking about her case on cable news, on X, or anywhere else.
Blanche accused Democrats of lying to the country when they claim Trump is weaponizing the DOJ against Omar.
He also pointed out who has actually been running their mouth about this investigation, noting that "the congresswoman has made multiple public comments about it. I haven't," according to Breitbart.
Jack Smith and Juan Merchan Never Gave Trump the Same Courtesy
Blanche knows what the alternative looks like, because he lived it.
He was Trump's personal lawyer while the left hit him with four criminal indictments.
Jack Smith went to court to gag Trump in the January 6 case, and Judge Tanya Chutkan gave him what he wanted.
Her October 2023 order put Smith's team, the witnesses, and court staff off-limits for Trump, and a federal appeals court refused to throw it out, Fox News reported.
Smith tried the same move in the classified documents case, and that judge told him no.
In Manhattan, Merchan fined Trump $1,000 for each of nine gag order violations – $9,000 total from a man running for president.
Then Merchan found a tenth violation over Trump's comments about the jury and warned that the next one could mean a jail cell.
"It appears that the $1,000 fines are not serving as a deterrent," Merchan said, according to the Washington Times.
The presumptive Republican nominee was threatened with jail for talking about a trial that was swallowing his entire campaign.
That is what weaponization looked like.
Omar faces none of it.
The Birth Year Change Omar Still Has Not Explained
PJ Media reported that Omar's staff asked in May 2019 to have her birth year in public records changed from 1981 to 1982.
That one year could decide everything.
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley laid out why – a 17-year-old could have become a citizen automatically through her father's naturalization in 2000, with no separate application required.
And investigators are in no danger of running out the clock.
"The civil case does not have a statute of limitations," Turley said.
Asked in the Oval Office about deporting Omar, Trump went further.
"She could also go to jail," Trump said, according to Fox 9.
In the same breath, Trump said he hopes investigators treat her fairly.
Omar insists she did nothing wrong.
Omar Is Using Her Free Speech to Beg for $20 Donations
Hours after the raid, Omar's office posted a statement on X accusing the administration of turning federal law enforcement into a weapon against political enemies.
Within a day, Hakeem Jeffries was repeating the same line.
Pramila Jayapal called the search "a disgusting abuse of power," The Federalist reported.
This is the same Jayapal who praised the Biden administration after the Mar-a-Lago raid and said Trump belonged in jail.
Ro Khanna, another Omar defender, went on MSNBC back then and insisted the Mar-a-Lago raid was not political.
Omar herself vanished from public view for more than a week.
When she finally resurfaced on October 20, it was in a selfie video shot from the back seat of a car.
She never directly addressed the raid or the investigation.
She asked for money.
Omar thanked donors who sent $5, $10, and $20 and told them the cash helps "as we fight Trump and his administration for trying to intimidate me."
She is also booked for a live show in Minneapolis with leftist streamer Hasan Piker.
So the woman crying that Trump is silencing her has a social media megaphone, a fundraising pitch, and a stage next to a Twitch star.
That is the exact reverse of what Trump got from Jack Smith and Juan Merchan, and Jeffries and Jayapal know it.
Blanche chose a different path, and investigators are quietly doing their jobs while Omar works the cameras.
If she has a good explanation for that birth year, she has every opportunity to give it – Todd Blanche made sure of that.
