Trucker Father Told House Democrats Exactly Whose Fault His Daughter’s Injuries Are

An eighteen wheeler crushed five year old Dalilah Coleman's skull and femur on a California road.
Her father sat before Congress on Tuesday and refused every ounce of the Democrats' sympathy.
Marcus Coleman looked at Representative Steve Cohen and said the words that the hearing room won't forget.
A California Sanctuary Policy Put an Unlicensed Danger Behind the Wheel
Partap Singh, an illegal immigrant from India, was driving that eighteen wheeler through a Southern California construction zone in June 2024.
He was going too fast for the conditions and blew through a stop.
Singh had the commercial license because California handed it to him, no questions asked, the same sanctuary framework Republicans have been screaming about for years.
Dalilah also sustained a traumatic brain injury that will follow her for the rest of her life.
Marcus Coleman is a truck driver himself.
He told the committee he's lost income and is "pinching pennies" while raising nine kids and caring for a daughter who now needs help just getting through the day.
His wife came to this country legally and did everything the system asked of her.
Coleman did not come to Washington for a hug.
Coleman Rejected Every Ounce of Sympathy Sanctuary Democrats Offered
"I reject your guys' sympathy, to be honest with you," Coleman told the panel.
"There's no way you guys are sorry."
He said not one member of that committee had ever bothered to find him in the hallway before the cameras showed up.
"When you're grandstanding on top of your soapbox, this is when you guys care," he said.
Then he delivered the line that mattered most.
"This is the end result of sanctuary cities, right here."
"I hold each and every one of you responsible for it."
Rep. Steve Cohen sat and took it.
He was not the only Democrat who had to sit through it.
Patricia Fox testified right alongside Coleman about her daughter, twenty two year old Carissa Aspnes, left permanently disabled in a March 2025 hit and run in Colorado.
The driver was an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.
Carissa now needs a Hoyer lift and a feeding tube just to survive.
Two families, two sanctuary states, one policy that keeps producing the exact same nightmare.
Trump Already Put Coleman's Daughter in the State of the Union
President Trump introduced Dalilah's Law at his February State of the Union to bar illegal aliens from getting commercial driver's licenses in the first place.
Senator Jim Banks and Senator Shelley Moore Capito have both filed legislation to make that federal law rather than a state by state guessing game.
California, Colorado, and Maryland were the three sanctuary states named directly at Tuesday's hearing, and Coleman's case is the reason a seven year old's name is now attached to a federal bill.
Singh should never have been behind that wheel, and Dalilah should be a healthy seven year old instead of a permanent case study in what sanctuary policy actually costs.
Congress has heard this story before with different names and different crash sites, and every single time it traces back to the same mayors and governors who'd rather protect illegal aliens than the families who pay their salaries.
Dalilah's Law is sitting in Congress right now, and every Democrat who votes against it will have to explain that vote to a father who already told them exactly what he thinks of their sympathy.
