The DOJ Just Went Hot on Election Security With Sealed Warrant FBI Raids on Downtown LA Luxury Towers
California refused to hand over its voter rolls to federal investigators for months.
Tuesday morning, FBI helicopters circled two downtown Los Angeles apartment towers instead.
The warrants driving that raid remain sealed, and nobody official will say why.
Sealed Warrants Hit Apex, Alina and TenTen Wilshire Towers
FBI agents in tactical gear descended on the Apex and Alina apartment towers near 9th and Figueroa early Tuesday morning.
A second team hit 1010 Wilshire, the high-end TenTen Wilshire building, the same day.
An LAPD helicopter landed agents directly on the Apex rooftop helipad while plainclothes agents held positions outside.
The fire department took over the elevators so agents could move floor to floor without interference.
Agents were in and out in about an hour, according to ABC7 Los Angeles, which confirmed LAPD and fire department support at the scene.
Concierges at the Apex told reporters agents showed search warrants on arrival but would not say which floors they searched.
A front desk employee at 1010 Wilshire said security cameras caught agents riding the elevators, but even the building staff could not say which units they hit.
One person was reportedly taken into custody on the Apex rooftop, according to the Santa Monica Observer – a detail no other outlet has independently confirmed as of publication.
Investigators have not released that person's name.
The FBI's public statement said only that the warrants were part of an "ongoing investigation."
Federal agents would not say what agency requested them, what crime is alleged, or whose apartment they searched.
That is not an accident.
Essayli's Election Fraud Crackdown Sets the Backdrop
The timing points straight at Bill Essayli, the Trump administration's top federal prosecutor in Los Angeles.
Essayli, the first Muslim ever elected to the California State Assembly before then-Attorney General Pam Bondi tapped him to lead the US Attorney's office for the Central District, has spent months promising this exact moment.
Essayli's office posted about an election fraud crackdown right before the raid, and reporters connected the dots immediately.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli said his team is "actively identifying ineligible citizens on California's dirty voter rolls" and will "soon announce criminal arrests."
He is not speculating.
Essayli told reporters back in June that his office already has evidence of voter fraud "beyond a reasonable doubt."
He said then that charges could land within one to two months.
Skeptics in the California press wrote off that promise when two months passed without an indictment.

Why Sealed Warrants Signal DOJ Means Business
This is not the first time federal agents have gone after election records over Democrat objections.
The FBI searched the Fulton County, Georgia, elections office in January over 2020 ballot records, and Democrat officials there screamed about it just as loudly as California will scream now.
Georgia's elections office called it unconstitutional.
The records got searched anyway.
Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, are already known to be under separate DOJ scrutiny, which tells you the pressure on California's political class is not limited to one office tower.
Essayli promised arrests months ago and Sacramento has stalled every audit request since – now federal agents are inside luxury towers with a judge's signature and the state still doesn't get to see the paperwork.
That is what accountability looks like when Washington stops asking nicely.
