NBC And CBS Downplayed An Anti ICE Bombing And Conservatives Are Not Laughing

A New York City extremist doused ICE headquarters in gasoline and armed himself with axes and knives Monday morning.

NBC News and CBS News decided America deserved a different version of events.

The way NBC and CBS covered an attempted bombing will make your blood boil.

A Cart Full Of Weapons And A Sign That Said Everything

Andrew Arrabaca showed up outside 26 Federal Plaza in lower Manhattan just before 8:30 a.m. Monday with a cart.

On it sat two axes, three knives, a hammer, a machete and an airsoft rifle.

A sign zip-tied to the cart read ICE off our streets.

Arrabaca doused the building's employee entrance with gasoline, sparked it with a lighter, and set off a firework packed inside a canister for good measure.

He fired several rounds from the airsoft rifle toward the building before a security officer wrestled him to the ground.

Federal officials say the officer and a bystander grazed by the blast were the only injuries reported.

FBI Assistant Director James Barnacle told reporters Arrabaca "came armed with bad intentions, looking to injure people and harm people."

Fox News reported Barnacle went further, calling Arrabaca "an anti-American, anti-government extremist."

Voter records show Arrabaca registered as a Democrat and belonged to the left-wing Working Families Party, according to Fox News.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the arrest within hours, writing that an individual had deployed an incendiary device outside the building.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani called the attack "deeply disturbing" and said his office would support the federal investigation.

That is the softest possible response to a man who showed up with axes and gasoline to attack federal officers in Mamdani's own city.

No condemnation of anti-ICE extremism. No acknowledgment of why a registered Democrat felt emboldened enough to bring a machete downtown.

That is where the honesty stopped.

Networks Softened A Bombing While Agents Ran Out With Guns

Video from the scene shows ICE and Homeland Security officers sprinting out of the building with weapons drawn as black smoke poured off the pavement.

That is not the version America got from NBC and CBS.

Gateway Pundit flagged a viral clip of CBS's own coverage of the attack, captioned "fiery but mostly peaceful," a direct callback to the network's infamous 2020 riot line.

NBC's headline landed just as badly, drawing mockery across social media within minutes of posting.

This is not a new trick.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has been warning about this exact pattern for months, saying sanctuary politicians and their allies in the press keep softening language around attacks on ICE while the assaults themselves keep climbing.

The numbers back her up.

DHS reported a 1,347 percent increase in assaults on ICE officers during President Trump's first year back in office compared to the same period under Biden.

Vehicular attacks against agents jumped more than 3,200 percent.

Death threats against ICE officers and their families are up 8,000 percent.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called ICE agents "Trump's modern-day Gestapo" on camera, and network anchors let the comparison slide without a single follow-up question.

Arrabaca did not develop his hatred for ICE in a vacuum.

He absorbed months of Democrat officials comparing federal law enforcement to Nazis, and Monday morning he acted on it with a cart full of weapons.

That is the direct line DHS has been drawing for a year, and NBC's headline is proof nobody in that newsroom wants viewers to see it.

The Butler Playbook Never Left

Anyone who remembers Thomas Crooks firing a rifle at President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, remembers something else too.

Major networks spent the early hours after that shooting calling the gunfire vague background noise instead of what it was.

The pattern is identical now.

A man builds an arsenal, drives to a federal building, sets it on fire, and the coverage that reaches your television treats it like a summer cookout.

Not attempted murder. Not domestic terrorism. Just noise, and smoke, and nothing to see here.

Every time the target is a conservative or a federal law enforcement officer, the same newsroom instinct kicks in, and the softening starts before the smoke even clears.

Arrabaca did not accidentally bring a cart full of weapons to Foley Square.

He came to hurt federal officers, and the only reason he did not succeed is that a security officer got to him first.

NBC and CBS had that information before they wrote their headlines.

They chose the version that protected the narrative instead of the one that protected the truth.

Ask yourself why.

NBC and CBS depend on the same advertisers and the same urban audiences that show up at anti-ICE rallies with signs comparing agents to slave patrols.

Calling Monday's attack what it actually was, an attack that could have killed federal officers, means admitting their own political allies helped build the environment that produced it.

Soft words cost them nothing. The truth costs them viewers.

That is not journalism.

That is cover for anyone willing to commit violence in the name of stopping ICE, and it is exactly why the men and women wearing that badge are under attack at a rate this country has never seen.
