One of the original flashpoints between Donald Trump and the GOP establishment in the 2016 campaign was that Donald Trump opposed the U.S. going to war in Syria to depose dictator Bashar al-Assad.
Tulsi Gabbard – then a Democratic member of Congress – also opposed another endless war in the Middle East.
Opposition to this war led Hillary Clinton to smear both Trump and Gabbard as Russian assets.
But Trump and Gabbard knew war in Syria meant committing tens of thousands of U.S. troops to fight alongside Islamic rebels that were really ISIS forces.
In Joe Biden’s final days in office, the deep state finally got its wish as the Islamic terrorist forces took over the country, forcing Assad to flee.
The Islamic rebels reported shooting down Assad’s plane and killing the dictator.

Syria figures to be a major bone of contention in Gabbard’s confirmation hearing.
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton is one of the biggest warmongers in D.C.
Bolton stooped to a new low in an interview where CNN gave him a platform to hurl ugly lies about a decorated military veteran and patriot who served America with honor.
“I think she’s totally unqualified to be DNI, and I think her positions put her beyond the outermost fringe of American politics,” Bolton stated.
Bolton’s entire basis for saying this was that she opposed the U.S. going to war with Russia over first Syria and then Ukraine.
“When she visited Assad in Syria, he was effectively a Russian Iranian ally. And what she said about Syria not being a direct threat to the United States, that was her justification for going is completely false. The Syrians and their combination with Iran and Hezbollah have posed direct threats to Americans across the region. They certainly pose a direct threat to key American allies, Israel and Jordan,” Bolton added.
Bolton then invented his own version of the Steele Dossier, claiming without citing any evidence that the ISIS terrorists who just took over Syria would find files in Assad’s palace showing Gabbard was a Syrian spy.
“And it’s going to be very interesting to see what the files that may be uncovered in the Syrian government if the rebels succeed in capturing Damascus, what they show about a number of Americans,” Bolton continued.
Tulsi Gabbard wants to help Donald Trump end the war in Ukraine and put a stop to the illegal warrantless FISA spying program the deep state used to target Trump’s 2016 campaign in the Russia collusion hoax.
Those would be significant defeats for the deep state.
The deep state knows that personnel is policy, so Bolton is part of a coordinated effort to tank Gabbard’s nomination and replace her with someone establishment friendly.
