Laura Ingraham asked a Trump advisor one question about lawfare no one expected
Democrats tried to bury Donald Trump in an avalanche of lawfare.
The President-elect managed to beat most of it back.
And Laura Ingraham asked a Trump advisor one question about lawfare no one expected.
Calls for Joe Biden to pardon Donald Trump grow
President Joe Biden gave his son, Hunter Biden, a blanket pardon that allowed him to avoid any consequences for his conviction on tax and gun crimes.
Some members of the political establishment encouraged Biden to tie that pardon in with a pardon for President-elect Donald Trump for the federal charges against him over January 6 and classified documents.
U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) called on Biden to pardon Trump.
“I am just saying, wipe them out,” Manchin said. “Why don’t you go ahead and pardon Donald Trump for all his charges and make it, you know, it would have gone down a lot more balanced, if you will.”
Special Counsel Jack Smith asked for those charges to be dismissed after Trump won the election because of a Justice Department policy against prosecuting a sitting President.
He left the door slightly cracked for the January 6 and classified documents cases to be refilled in 2029 when Trump leaves office.
Laura Ingraham asks Trump advisor about a pardon from Joe Biden
Fox News host Laura Ingraham put senior Trump advisor Jason Miller on the spot by asking if Trump would accept a pardon from Biden.
“Jason, would Donald Trump accept a pardon from Joe Biden?” Ingraham asked.
“At this point, I don’t know what Joe Biden is gonna pull,” Miller replied. “I think it’s nonsense. If it’s some aspect of some PR play, he might try to do it. But President Trump did absolutely nothing wrong. That’s why everything is disappearing. That’s why he’s focused on actually serving for this second term here.”
Ingraham wouldn’t let him off the hook without an answer.
“Wait, would President Trump say ‘no’ to a pardon, though?” Ingraham said. “Come on.”
“I’m not gonna go and put words in the President’s mouth,” Miller stated. “Everyone sees exactly what’s going on. This is a complete media manipulation by Joe Biden.”
Biden who despises Trump is unlikely to give the President-elect a pardon on his way out the door.
A pardon from the President would bury any hopes of Smith’s January 6 and classified documents cases being revived in 2029.
Trump could bring an end to those cases through his Justice Department when he takes office.
Smith asked for both cases to be dismissed without prejudice, which opens the door for the charges to be refiled in 2029 when Trump leaves office.
Trump’s Justice Department could try to refile the cases and have a judge dismiss them prejudice, which would be the end of the cases for good.
The federal statute of limitations for most crimes is five years, which means that the cases would expire during Trump’s Presidency.
Democrats have next to zero chance of being able to successfully revive Jack Smith’s lawfare when Donald Trump becomes a private citizen again in 2029.
