Aaron Rodgers made one decision about his future that caught everyone off guard.

Aaron Rodgers eyes a future in politics after his football career is over

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has had the season from hell after returning from an Achilles injury he suffered in the first game last season.

The Jets fired their head coach Robert Saleh after a rough start, but the team hasn’t been able to right the ship.

Rodgers’ future with the Jets is uncertain after a disappointing season, but he’s already made one big decision about his life after football.

The Daily Mail reported that he’s looking toward a political career after his playing days are done.

“He is interested in playing a few more years in the NFL, with the Jets, but if that doesn’t work out, he would consider going elsewhere for one more chance at a Super Bowl,” a source told the Daily Mail.

The Super Bowl-winning quarterback could be eyeing the top office in the land.

“But his post-playing days intentions are political,” the source continued. “If it made sense, he would run for President or at least consider being a running mate in the way that RFK Jr. wanted him to be this year. Once he is retired, he would have no problem attempting to try his hand for political office.”

Rodgers was an outspoken supporter of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s independent Presidential campaign before he dropped out of the race and endorsed President-elect Donald Trump.

Rodgers was on the shortlist to become Kennedy’s running mate this summer before he ultimately picked entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan.

He told former Fox News host Tucker Carlson in an interview this summer that his love for his country almost made him take Kennedy up on his offer.

“But that’s why I was interested when Bobby came to me and said, ‘Would you think about being my running mate?’ And I said, ‘Are you serious? I’m a f***ing football player.’ But I love this country, and I’d love to be a part of bringing it back to what she used to be,” Rodgers explained.

“Oh yeah, I definitely thought about it,” Rodgers continued. “I definitely thought about it, because I love Bobby and I just wanted to hear what he had to say about it.”

Rodgers respected Kennedy’s desire to roll up his sleeves and tackle the big problems facing the country.

“He gets cornered, this guy is willing to tackle the big issues in this country and keep it real,” Rodgers explained. “That resonated with me. What used to make America great, we need to get back to that. I love people who stand up for what they believe in, like yourself Tucker.”
