Alvin Bragg campaigned for Manhattan District Attorney on a platform of trying to go after Donald Trump.

He’s trying to make good on that promise ahead of his 2025 re-election campaign.

But Alvin Bragg got some brutal news about his quest to jail Donald Trump.

Bragg demands Democrat judge sanction Donald Trump for violating unconstitutional gag order

Judge Juan Merchan imposed an unconstitutional gag order to restrict the political speech of former President Donald Trump – the GOP nominee for President – in a joke of a case that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg only brought forward for political reasons.

Bragg is now arguing for Merchan to sanction Trump for violating this un-American gag order on different occasions.

But if he’s expecting the judge to throw Trump in jail for violating the gag order, he has another thing coming.

Former Justice Department official Tom Dupree told CNN’s Jake Tapper that Merchan was unlikely to take that extreme step.

“The judge has specified lists basically, of people who are possible targets for insult and people who are off limits and the prosecutors say, Trump has just run roughshod over those limits,” Dupree stated. “I think the judge is going to take the prosecutors’ allegations pretty seriously. The prosecutors have put forward a bunch of tweets, some that Trump originally posted himself, some that he reposted from others that prosecutors say violated the gag order. I think this is a judge who is very sensitive to the need to preserve the integrity of this proceeding. That means protecting witnesses from attacks, protecting jurors from attacks, and that he may well fine Trump.”

“I don‘t think he’s going to go so far as to try to throw Trump in jail or anything like that. He may have stern language, he may have a warning, he may impose a nominal fine, but I think you‘ll make clear to former President Trump that if this behavior continues he’s going to up the punishment,” Dupree concluded.

Trump’s opponents taking advantage of the gag order

The gag order prevents Trump from commenting on witnesses in this case.

But Bragg’s star witness – former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is also making the media rounds attacking Trump and claiming that this case is proof that he shouldn’t be President.

Cohen is also launching broadside after broadside at Trump on social media taunting him over Bragg prosecuting him.

A gag order is supposed to prevent trying the case in public or influencing the jury.

Cohen continues to try the case in public and make comments intended to influence the jury.

This one-sided and unconstitutional gag order allows Trump’s political opponents to slime him on a daily basis while preventing him from responding.
